Sipoo’s residents now can enter gym and ice swimming sites using only their mobile phones. Sipoo municipality was already using Visma Finland's Megaflex system with Idesco mobile-compatible readers installed, so migrating to mobile access was quite simple. Ossi Hartikainen, Sipoo municipality’s technical property manager, points out, “You rarely give your phone to someone else, so access rights aren’t getting misused anymore”. He continues, “We don’t have to worry about lost access cards either, because it’s much easier to manage and distribute customers’ mobile IDs than physical access cards – we save work time, while lowering costs.” Marko Lehtonen of Visma, Megaflex system provider noted: "Most of the door readers were already mobile-compatible, so it was an easy deployment.” He continues, “Additionally, since most of them are OSDP, they can be updated remotely. This appeals to diverse groups, including older adults and families. The game fosters a sense of community. It's often played in doubles, which encourages social interaction and teamwork. In Malaysia and Singapore, where people enjoy group activities, pickleball has become a great way to bring communities together, especially in parks and recreation centers. I have seen some of condo have converted their tennis court even the roof top into a pickleball court. The game offers a low-impact workout, making it attractive for people seeking physical activity without putting too much strain on their joints. This is particularly relevant for older individuals or those looking for a moderate form of exercise. In both Malaysia and Singapore, where space is at a premium, pickleball’s smaller court size makes it suitable for urban settings.
