Have you tried to spend a day without interacting with a GenAI topic, with success? Most likely not, it is the talk of the town as we all know. If you do have those ambitions here is my contribution to make it impossible. We have just launched our newest GenAI initiative, our new chatbot enhanced with ChatGPT capabilities. Launching something that is based on trending technology, it’s nothing new in itself, I would also guess that's kind of what you would expect. However, we’ve always been curios and obsessed about how technology can improve customer and employee experience. So, in our trademark manner we have been thinking and have come up with a clever solution that reduces the time to "train" and deploy the bot. At the same time, we’ve introduced easy to use features that secures the quality in the interactions and of course supportive functions to improve the quality even further. Not to forget that we have optimized the cost side of the exercise, bringing down the cost with a 5:1 ratio. All of this was picked up by Telekomidag, check out the article below:

“Now we can quickly identify trends with our feedback data and understand why something is happening on the website. The qualitative data is very effective for both our Product Team and Product Support Team.” Another great customer story, this time of Luminor Group, one of the largest providers of financial services in the Baltic region. Their Senior Product Manager Nika Lomidze is sharing how their team is benefiting from the use of Mopinion. I especially like the approach to use Mopinion to gather information (by collecting feedback) AND to give information (by creating in-app announcements). Knock knock! 🔒 Locked in the room, diving deep into digital operational #resilience! At Swedbank we call it #DORAdays. During this event together with all stakeholders dedicate day or several days only for DORA related topics. Siloed work won’t cut it when implementing #DORA, you need to see big picture and involve management to take responsibility for the requirements outlined in #DORA article No.5. Imagine this🌠: locking the door with your team and going through each requirement line by line. It's like a puzzle where you uncover the missing pieces and ensure a robust DOR governance structure. 🧩 Create DOR governance👑 is one of the tasks: you must determine the roles of your management body, second line of defense (2nd LoD), and first line of defense (1st LoD). Look at your organizational chart closely again 👀and you might even discover other stakeholders who was left aside and shall be part of this locked room experience. Line by line or bit by bit, we are building an understanding of DORA regulation scope✅. Not all #DORA requirements are new for the financial entities, we could recognise a lot from European Banking Authority (EBA) ICT or Outsourcing guidelines. Check what you have already in place, identify gaps and embrace collaborative leadership. Adopted regulatory technical standards (#RTS) will not make your life easier. You need a team that works together in synergy💫—finding joy in this #DORA journey and seizing opportunities to expand knowledge across different areas, different colleagues, and way of working. Rome wasn't built in a day🧱! Spending quality time together as a team is essential for success on this exciting DORA adventure🚀💼 #DORAdays #Teamwork #Collaboration #RTS #ESA #RegulatoryTechnicalAct #ICTRisk #DigitalOperationalResilienceAct —— Photo taken by me

I love my privacy, at least the idea, that there is something to hold on still. It is not about hiding, but a huge identity issue, nobody sees you as You see. The Cybersecurity Keynotes highlighted already years ago that “privacy is dead”, but tbh it wasn´t this level dead, perhaps badly bruised, but not dead. Nobody really thought then, that AI is going to profile us based on mass surveillance (at least, not in the short term). What comes to society, damn! The facts that Finland has to re-write its whole constitutional law, would be the least of our problems. If CSAM act continues to approval in EU, we will make the biggest single mistake in history of democracy. This isn’t the first time that our core values are used as a Trojan horse to get wanted results in digital space, not even for this year. Approval would be a political nightmare and war since that day. Netox will never let 3rd party to get access to data or systems that we are hired to keep safe. It is our core business. As I write this, Peter will present both Teknologiateollisuus - Technology Industries of Finland and Finnish Information Security Cluster (FISC) - Kyberala ry statement of CSAM act. Peter has great delegation to support this mission (FiCom, TSV and WithSecure). - The proposal to restrict fundamental rights does not comply with the principles of necessity and proportionality. - The proposal does not allow the political objectives to be achieved. - The proposal is a first step towards eroding the core area of confidentiality and privacy of electronic communications. - The proposal threatens the comprehensive security of society. - The proposal is contrary to existing EU law. Briefly, the planned EU CSAM act will not serve its purpose, but we would compromise everything in digital space. EU and NATO cannot be outmatched in physical way. So, it is the digital space that needs more of our joint attention and effort. I am sure that Finland will make right decision!

Building and managing an effective tech team is more than just a job—it's a skill that takes time to develop. I've learned that the key to success lies not only in the technical skills but also in the human connection. Here are some insights from my journey: ● Diversity Drives Innovation - Embrace diverse backgrounds and perspectives. It's the variety in our team that fuels creativity and solves complex problems. ● Open Communication Channels - Foster an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas and feedback. Transparent communication leads to trust and better decision-making. ● Continuous Learning - Encourage your team to stay curious and up-to-date. Regular training and development opportunities can boost motivation and keep your team ahead of the curve. ● Recognize and Reward - Don't forget to celebrate small wins and big achievements. Recognition not only boosts morale but also reinforces desired behaviors and outcomes. Regularly check in with your team members about their career aspirations and well-being. Happy employees are more engaged and productive!

From time to time you stumble upon a great text that you wished you had authored. The SEB Tech Blog article that our esteemed colleague, Ulf Larsson, has written about bank security is such a text. Ulf catches the essence of security culture, awareness, abd competence within our bank context. If I could add one single piece of input, it would be the following: - Strive for minimization of complexity and not putting full reliance on security tools or a security organization to do the job. Each one of us have a security role (is the pilot) and need to constantly stay vigilat, exactly as Ulf descibes in the analogy of a pilot. Have a good read! https://lnkd.in/dNnc9BKg

If you have been buying a new car in the recent years, most start with a configurator online. The ones I configure these days have AWD, Air suspension, animal free interior, but with cooled front seats ;) Why can i not do the same for my granola? Or why do I need to repeat my favourite order at the sandwich bar? Many say you can have your flavour of granola if you are a millionaire, but for the rest of us, someone else selects the ingredients. Digital technology has provided revolutions in many fields. What if we could #RewriteTheFuture #Capgeminifinland

5 Principles for Successful #GenAI Use Inspired by Anni Hallila As the head of people and culture at Framery, a Finnish manufacturing company, Anni Hallila has cultivated a work environment that prioritizes open communication, teamwork, and employee well-being. Her inspiring work principles based on a common few Finnish phrases can be seamlessly applied to leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) effectively: 1. "The person who asks questions will not stray away from the path." In the realm of GenAI, asking the right questions is crucial. By engaging actively and probing the AI with thoughtful queries, users can extract valuable insights and ensure the AI remains aligned with their goals. This principle emphasizes the importance of curiosity and open communication in driving AI success. 2. "A crazy person does a lot of work; a smart person gets away with less." GenAI excels when used smartly. Rather than overwhelming the AI with endless tasks, focus on strategic inputs and clearly define objectives. This approach allows users to achieve more with less effort, balancing innovation with efficiency and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. 3. "Put the cat on the table." Addressing issues directly is vital when working with AI. If there's a problem with the AI's output or a misunderstanding in its responses, it's essential to tackle it head-on. Open discussions and trust in the AI's capabilities can lead to better solutions and improvements. 4. "Whatever you leave behind, you will find in front of you." Ignoring small errors or unresolved issues in AI-generated content can lead to bigger problems down the line. Promptly addressing and correcting mistakes ensures that the AI continues to provide accurate and reliable results, maintaining workflow efficiency. 5. "Going toward the tree with your back first." Planning ahead is key to successful AI integration. By strategically anticipating future needs and potential challenges, users can avoid setbacks and ensure the AI aligns with their long-term objectives. This foresight enables smoother implementation and maximizes the AI's impact. Applying these principles to GenAI can transform how users engage with this technology, driving innovation and efficiency in their projects. Detailed Hallila's interview at CNBC Make It: 🔗https://cnb.cx/4dYyM7j “We appreciate being smart about planning [in a way] that’s respectful of other people’s time as well,” she adds. 🎨 Image crafted by the creative prowess of #DALLE, guided by the eloquence of #ChatGPT 🤖

While the article is in Estonian, it's pretty awesome to have been granted the award of the most valuable tech company in Estonia 🇪🇪 and accept it on behalf of Wise. While the ranking is based on a company's valuation determined by its investors, the numbers that are actually driving Wise are much more interesting – we help 12.8m customers move £120bn every year cross border, while helping them save £1.8bn that they'd otherwise pay in hidden fees when converting currency. We move about 5% of personal customer volume cross border and 1% for small businesses – which means 95-99% of the work is still ahead of us. Come and help us achieve our mission by using Wise (https://wise.com) or helping us build it (https://wise.jobs/). I hade the joy and privilege to attend Boardman Oy’s morning seminar on anti-corruption, where we discussed the recently published article series on identifying corruption. According to a report by Nordic Business Ethics Initiative, covering Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Estonia, the numbers for ethical misconduct in Nordic - and Finnish - organizations are disturbing. For example, 32% of the respondents have witnessed someone in their organization taking or offering bribes. You can download their report from their website. We also had the honour to listen to Richard Bistrong, interviewed by Anna Romberg, and his lifestory and lessons learnt. Mr. Bistrong was one of those who went down the slippery slope of corruption, ending up in jail, but is now a CEO of his own company and working as an anti-corruption, compliance and ethics consultant. It was extremely interesting to hear from someone with first hand experience on how things start to go wrong and what should be in place to prevent such things from happening in organizations. We also had a talk by Antti Norkela as well as two interesting panels, including one by the authors of the article series. So a very intense, but well organized session to start off the day! The key points I took with me was that of watching out for dangerous reward systems, ensuring psychological safety so that people speak up when facing unethical dilemmas, and focusing on stakeholder risk, not only financial risk. And some hard truths about Finland…

Soon! Draft legislation for the licensed iGaming -market in Finland will be published for consultation round soon, according to Helsingin Sanomat (biggest newspaper in Finland) possibly already on this week (link in the comments - a great opportunity to practice your Finnish skills at the same!) The draft paper should reveal what is to be expected from technical providers like us @Finnplay (B2B -license, info on technical requirements - but not with details). We have been preparing for this and will be ensuring on being technically compliant from the moment we know the requirements. In addition to that one thing is sure; we will be working hard on being Platform of Cooperation also in Finland - linking operators, game providers, other suppliers and regulators for perfect experience for the players. Will be holding keynote on this with headline: Creating successful supplier ecosystem in regulated markets and moderating following panel in the Finnish iGaming event in September. #igaming #finland #b2b #regulatedmarkets #platformofcooperation #compliance #technicalcompliance

This month I completed 2 years at Nets. Some interesting projects that I was involved in, Reporting products: 1) Development of a new regulatory reporting product for client banks in Finland. Few hundred thousand euros in development and recurring revenue. Value added ML services in our larger fraud prevention scope at Nets, 1) Development of an end-to-end, state-of-the-art card-fraud detection Machine Learning pipeline on Cloudera Data Platform (on-prem cluster). This project required development of ML components (data cleaning, feature store, xgboost model codebase, model validation etc) as PySpark applications. 2) Automated ML pipeline integration and deployment on Cloudera Dev-PreProd-Prod environment through Jenkins. 3) Ongoing efforts towards integrating MLFlow in our techstack. Great team efforts Christina Villumsen Aria Ketirani Jonathan Schmidt Kebuya Nelson R and Joško Šugar
