50 years of #automotive #evolution with 50 million volume #increase in 50 seconds! In the last 50 years we have seen a multi-directional #automotive boom worldwide! During this time, #car #production #volumes among the #top15 countries has increased by over 50 million vehicles per year, which is more than a 150% rise (from 32 million vehicles to 82 million vehicles annually). Data shows that almost the entire growth; 45 mln vehicles/year; comes from #production in #Asia, with #China alone contributing 30 million vehicles per year, making it the world’s clear #leader in #carproduction, having reached this level from “zero” over the last 40 years. In 1973, among the #Top15: • there were 8 #European countries that produced total of 13.5 mln vehicles/y, represents 42% of the entire list; • the #USA produced 8.3 million vehicles (26%); • #Japan, the only Asian representative on the list, produced 6.8 million vehicles (21%), marking a sixfold increase since 1963. After 50 years, the Top 15 list has undergone significant shifts, moving the center of gravity decidedly toward Asia. In 2023, among the #Top15 countries: • only 4 European countries remain, with their combined production volumes dropping to 9.5 million vehicles, representing just 11.5% of the list; • the list is dominated by Asian countries, with 7 of them currently on the list, collectively producing almost 50 million vehicles annually, which accounts for 60% of the total production of all top 15 countries; • despite the fact that the U.S. and Japan were leaders 50 years ago, their position hasn’t strengthened, with their annual production increasing by only about 2 million vehicles over last half-century. Beyond the array of conclusions describing this evolution from economic, demographic, political and other analyses, it’s interesting to note that the countries driving global car production growth belong to the group of #developing #countries. Is it really the case that highly #developed #countries have reached a “critical mass” beyond which they can’t expand further? What’s behind this? When it comes to global industry, can we even talk about “production countries” anymore, or is it more about #companies? When will currently developing countries reach the level of developed? Will the next developing countries in line, change this and similar lists in 20, 30, or 50 years? And will the highly developed countries of today someday become developing countries once again? It’s a self-piloting aircraft, all-electric. As in - AUTONOMOUS. It’s an electric-powered vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) air taxi. TOP Speed- 93 mph, Range- 62 miles. It specifically mentions GD&T in section 7.3.1.2, stating that "Engineering drawings and specifications shall be clear, unambiguous, and contain sufficient information to ensure consistent interpretation and realization of the product design." GD&T is considered an essential tool for achieving this clarity and ensuring the accurate interpretation of design intent. AIAG VDA 621: Guideline for Engineering Drawings and Specifications: This guideline, jointly developed by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) and the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), provides detailed recommendations for creating and interpreting engineering drawings in the automotive sector. It extensively discusses the use of GD&T, covering topics like symbols, tolerances, and dimensioning techniques. SAE J1159: Dimensioning and Tolerancing for Automotive Parts: This SAE standard provides specific guidance on applying GD&T principles to automotive parts. It defines standard practices for dimensioning, tolerancing, and feature control for various types of features found in automotive components. BMW Engineering Standards for Drawings (EST): These standards, developed by BMW Group, outline the company's specific requirements for engineering drawings and GD&T usage. They provide detailed guidelines on how to apply GD&T to BMW designs, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards. General Motors Global Engineering Standards (GES): Similar to BMW's EST, GM's GES establishes the company's internal standards for engineering drawings and GD&T practices. These standards ensure that GM's designs are communicated clearly and consistently throughout the product development process. These are just a few examples, and many other automotive manufacturers and organizations have their own quality documents that mandate the use of GD&T. The specific requirements and guidelines may vary, but the overall objective remains the same: to ensure that engineering drawings are clear, unambiguous, and accurately convey the design intent, thereby promoting consistent product quality and manufacturing processes. In addition to these formal documents, the automotive industry also emphasizes GD&T through training programs, workshops, and industry best practices. By incorporating GD&T into their design processes and communication, automotive companies can achieve greater precision, reduce errors, and improve overall product quality.

🌍 Innovation Strength of Electric Vehicles: The Top 5 OEMs (2023-2024 H1)🚗⚡ The latest analysis from the Center of Automotive Management (CAM) examines which automakers are making progress in electromobility innovations in recent month. Despite the strong performance of Chinese OEMs like BYD we see catching-up tendencies of individual manufacturers such as Volkswagen in the fields of BEV, EV Ecosystem, and PHEV according to the CAM-Mobility approach.   ➡BEV Technology Field: - Volkswagen Group: Leading the BEV innovation field with an innovation strength of 80.0 and 34 innovations. - BYD: Despite having only 18 innovations, BYD impresses with a high innovation strength of 53.0 points, securing second place. - SAIC Motor: Also focusing on innovation-driven world premieres, reaching a strength of 51.2 points with 18 innovations.   ➡EV Ecosystem Technology Field: - Hyundai Motor Company (현대자동차)/Kia Worldwide : Leading this field with technologies like V2G and V2H. Seven innovations result in an innovation strength of 17.4 points. - Tesla: In second place with five innovations, including the "Supercharger Network." - Mercedes-Benz AG: The only German premium brand in the Top 3, securing a spot with six innovations and 10.9 points.   ➡PHEV Technology Field: - Volkswagen and Mercedes: Both German brands lead the PHEV field, with Volkswagen scoring 26.6 points and Mercedes 24.3 points. While they have many innovations, these are less focused on breakthrough innovations. - BYD: Despite fewer innovations than its competitors, BYD claims a Top 3 spot, once again proving that quality outweighs quantity.   ➡The TOP 3 innovations from 2023 to 2024 (H1) show that Chinese companies like BYD and SAIC are bringing the most innovation-driven advancements to the BEV and PHEV markets. Did you know that the world's first automobile was not powered by gasoline, but by steam? Built in 1769 by Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot, it was a steam-powered tricycle capable of reaching speeds of up to 6 km/h (3.7 mph). However, it wasn't until the late 19th century that gasoline-powered vehicles gained prominence, with Karl Benz's Patent-Motorwagen in 1886 considered the first practical automobile. Over the years, automotive development has seen remarkable advancements in technology, safety features, and environmental sustainability, revolutionizing transportation and shaping modern society's mobility landscape.

Daily routine… Every day the same checks, the same dimensions, the same stats… And no deviations, nothing detected, everything is running …. Finally, one day will be desire to skip these activities, everything is ok, no need to waste time. In a month, week or even in next shift will be produced defect, it will escape from the system, it will reach your customer's. Sometimes you can hear – “It’s easy job, you just control, measure, block, make someone’s life complicated:)” In reality - you should have significant background to be capable to do this “easy job”, to make decision, to take responsibility… And here we should say thank you to everyone who are on the guard of the Quality System. To everyone who make this daily routine with clear understanding of it’s importance, who spend hours learning and improving Quality – it’s investment in your successful future. One Piece Flow is not for the lazy ones...it's really hard work! But sometimes switching to one-piece flow too early can be fatal. On the one hand, as a TPS maniac, I always push for a one-piece flow and that has always brought great results and pushed us to unexpected levels. It is a must! On the other hand, I'm not in the book writing or giving speeches business and I don't want to confuse people with "perfect theory". In the real world, you may (MAY!) be faced with situations where the problems are very obvious but you need to get results immediately! Example: During a production ramp-up in the automotive industry, you can't tell your customer, "Sorry, we need another 6 months to resolve all our issues so we can reach target production in a proper one-piece flow process." In such a situation, I prefer TOC thinking, which involves finding the constraint process step and protecting it from any unplanned downtime with a protective buffer. After some initial stability, you can continuously reduce the buffers and make the next group of problems visible. In summary: In the right production environment, One Piece Flow should always be the ideal target condition and you have to achieve it(!), but it may well be that you don't start with One Piece Flow, at least not when the problems are so obvious. picture source: KAIZEN Made Easy

Since EVs are part of our life, we desperately need some crucial informations to use for better time management. Here we go for those who has not any clue yet.👇👇 The formula for estimating the charging time of a vehicle battery, especially for electric vehicles (EVs), is quite simple. It depends on the battery's capacity and the charging power available. {Charging Time} ={Battery Capacity (kWh)/{Charging Power (kW) Battery Capacity (kWh): This is the total amount of energy the battery can store, usually measured in kilowatt-hours (kWh). For example, an EV might have a 60 kWh battery. Charging Power (kW): This is the power output of the charger, measured in kilowatts (kW). For instance, a home charger might provide 7 kW, while a fast charger at a public station might offer 50 kW or more. Lets do an example: If you have an EV with a 60 kWh battery and you're using a 7 kW home charger: {Charging Time} = 60 { kWh} / 7 { kW} ~approx 8.6 { hours} So, it would take about 8.6 hours to fully charge the battery from 0% to 100% using that charger. Things to Consider: Starting Battery Level: If the battery isn’t empty, the charging time will be less. For example, if you start charging at 20% instead of 0%, the time will be shorter. Charging Efficiency: Not all the energy goes into the battery; some is lost as heat. So the actual time might be slightly longer than calculated. Maximum Charging Rate: The vehicle might limit the charging speed to protect the battery, especially as it gets closer to full. This can extend the charging time. Think of charging your EV like filling a bucket with water. The size of the bucket is the battery capacity, and the size of the hose is the charging power. A bigger bucket (more capacity) takes longer to fill, but a bigger hose (more power) will fill it faster.
