Report on alleged North Korean missile in Ukraine made by non-field experts — UN source "There were three experts: on finance, general issues and the nuclear program", the source said UNITED NATIONS, April 30/ A document insisting that the debris found in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov on January 2 was from a North Korean Hwasong-11 ballistic missile cannot be considered an expert report because it was prepared by several specialists with a different sphere of expertise, a diplomatic source at the UN told TASS. "There were three experts: on finance, general issues and the nuclear program. There is no such format as a report by separate experts," the source said. Earlier, Reuters, citing sources, said that United Nations sanctions monitors had told a Security Council committee that "the debris from a missile that landed in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov on Jan. 2 was from a North Korean Hwasong-11 series ballistic missile." Previously, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov labeled as rumors Washington's claims that Pyongyang was providing military aid to Moscow. On October 26, 2023, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on reports about alleged arms deliveries to Russia from North Korea. According to its estimates, the decision may impact the direction of the conflict. "President Yoon Suk Yeol’s government now has to consider the US president-elect’s stance as it looks at whether to change its long-standing policy of not sending lethal aid" to the Kiev regime, an anonymous official said. He added that discussions on the matter "are private and ongoing." According to another high-ranking official, "Seoul is also looking at how Trump’s approach to the war will affect support for Ukraine among a range of countries." Earlier, former South Korean Ambassador to Moscow Vee Son Nak said that Trump’s return to the White House may change Seoul’s policy with regard to Ukraine. According to him, South Korea’s plans to send arms to Kiev most likely will not be implemented due to Trump’s election victory. Part 135 operators are defined by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as commuter or on-demand operations, which are typically private jet or aircraft charter companies. Part 380 operators are defined by the FAA as public charter air transportation companies. The disengagement process between Indian and Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh is progressing on schedule. Most temporary structures built during heightened tensions since 2020 have been removed, paving the way for resuming patrols. Chinese military infrastructure hindering Indian access in the Depsang area has been dismantled, along with critical structures at Y Junction and other posts. India's temporary structures, such as tents and sheds, have also been cleared. The primary unresolved issue was the Chinese blockade of patrols in Depsang, which has now been lifted following successful disengagement at the Finger Area, Galwan, and Gogra-Hot Springs. At Demchock, Chinese huts on disputed land have been dismantled, facilitated by the lower number of personnel involved. Disengagement will continue as planned, with patrols expected to resume after October 28-29. To avoid potential clashes, both nations will share patrol activity details to prevent troop encounters in disputed areas. Additionally, efforts are underway to reduce tensions in two hotspots in Arunachal Pradesh, particularly at Yangste. UK Defense Ministry mum on publications about Storm Shadow missile strikes on Russia The New York Times reported on November 17 that Biden had authorized the use of US-supplied ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles for strikes inside Russia LONDON, November 18/ British Defense Minister John Healey stated that he would not comment on reports alleging the authorization of strikes deep inside Russia using Storm Shadow long-range missiles. "I will not compromise operational security and comment on the details of long-range systems today," Healey said, answering questions from members of the House of Commons of the UK parliament. He also suggested that London should increase the volume of assistance to Kiev. The minister added that the UK would coordinate its support with the US and European allies. The New York Times reported on November 17 that Biden had authorized the use of US-supplied ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles for strikes inside Russia. Later, France’s Le Figaro reported that France and the United Kingdom had followed suit and allowed Ukraine to use their SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles for these purposes. However, the newspaper later removed this story from its website, giving no explanations. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said that Paris had not altered its position on strikes inside Russia. The German government said that the United States had notified Berlin about Biden’s decision. The German Cabinet of Ministers said that the US informed Berlin about the decision to authorize strikes deep inside Russia. However, the White House did not confirm the reports. China's nuclear arsenal increased by nearly 100 warheads over the last year, according to a report published today. Beijing's nuclear arsenal increased from 410 warheads to 500 over 2023, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) said in its annual report on international security. The report said China will have a smaller stockpile of nuclear warheads than Russia or the US by the end of the decade but may have as many intercontinental ballistic missiles. SIPRI said, “China is expanding its nuclear arsenal faster than any other country.
