🌐 Boosting Trade and Advancing Agricultural Development: GIZ Egypt Facilitates Partnerships and Expands Egyptian Access to African Markets at Food Africa Exhibition During the 9th edition of the Food Africa Exhibition, GIZ Egypt hosted 8 co-exhibitors from farmers' organisations, agribusinesses, digital start-ups, and the MAPs institute, showcased innovative solutions aimed at advancing the agricultural sector and enhancing its global competitiveness. Actively supported and capacitated through the Agricultural Innovation Project’s activities, the companies demonstrated market readiness and the ability to address sectoral challenges. Over the course of three days, over 80 successful business matchmaking meetings were facilitated with national exporters, manufacturers, and international buyers. These networking meetings bridged gaps between local producers and global markets, fostering trade linkages and creating pathways for new market access. The meetings resulted in promising business agreements and follow-up visits, opening doors for Egyptian agricultural products to expand across regional and international markets, strengthening African trade, and driving economic opportunities. Furthermore, GIZ Egypt also played a key role in five roundtable discussions covering critical topics: Boosting Fresh Produce and MAPs Exports, Intra-African Trade, Bridging the Gap: Unlocking Opportunities for SMEs in the Food & Agro Sectors, Green Transformation and carbon initiatives, and Women in Packaging – Leadership and Innovation. Voices Against Violence: Empowering Action Team Europe, in partnership with Tadwein تدوين for Gender Studies, hosted an event on December 9th as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Violence against Women and Girls. Titled "From Awareness to Action: Understanding and Combating Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG)," this event shed light on technology-facilitated violence (TFV) and acid attacks, crucial issues affecting women and girls. The event brought together NGOs, feminist organisations, academia, Egyptian Government representatives, and members of the Egyptian Parliament to address the impact of TFV, which includes cyberbullying, online harassment, and social media stalking. Technology-facilitated violence inflicts emotional trauma, social stigma, and physical harm on victims, including femicide. To combat this, we must: - Speak Up: Report online abuse and support victims. - Educate & Empower: Provide women and girls with tools to stay safe online. - Hold Perpetrators Accountable: Advocate for legal action and stringent regulations. - Report to Authorities: Contact the Cyber Crime Unit in Egypt at Hotline Number 108. Let's unite to end violence against women and girls. Embassy of the Netherlands in Egypt #16DaysOfActivism #No_excuse #TogetherAgainstCyberViolence #EndViolenceAgainstWomenandGirls
