What sets Computernørden ApS apart from nearly all other IT service companies? Let me share a story from today that illustrates my unique approach. I was visiting a long-time customer — a company that had stopped using my services years ago without clear reasons. Last Friday, they reached out to see if I had a network switch, which I did. They were determined to resolve ongoing issues with their local network, which hadn't been functioning flawlessly for some time. One problem they faced was relatively minor yet annoying: the thermal printer in their restaurant kitchen displayed a constantly blinking red LED, though it still functioned correctly. They had another identical printer at the bar that did not exhibit this issue. Despite attempting to swap the printers, the issue persisted only in the kitchen. Upon consulting their supplier, they were advised that the blinking was due to interference from kitchen appliances and that they would just have to live with it. Unconvinced, I decided to investigate further. I connected the printer to a long power cable and moved it around the kitchen. To my discovery, the blinking stopped whenever the printer was more than a meter away from the wall, though it would occasionally blink once. Placing the printer on the floor, the blinking ceased entirely. Upon lifting the printer again, a single blink occurred, and I realized the issue. When lifted, the paper roll inside shifted slightly, triggering the blink. The red LED ceased blinking when the paper roll settled back into place. I then noticed that the platform on which the printer normally sat was tilted at a 45-degree angle. A slight tilt of the printer replicated the blinking. It turned out the issue was not interference or anything supernatural, but simply that the printer was not level—gravity was the culprit. This kind of problem-solving is what distinguishes us at Computernørden ApS. I tackle the mysteries that others might not consider.

Silly little video vol 2. It seems that NetSuite is still relatively unknown in the Nordics. As the world's leading cloud business platform it should not be. Then again business platforms or ERPs are not that concrete in general - especially as we are talking about ecosystems which grow beyond the core platform. The expo at #SuiteWorld is actually one of the most concrete opportunities to experience the power of the ecosystem and understand the extensive capabilities of NetSuite. Hence I made the short (and very unprofessional) video below to give some insights into the NetSuite ecosystem.

Volue can today announce our financial results for the first quarter of 2024. We are reporting operating revenues of NOK 400 million in the first quarter of 2024, an increase of 18 percent from the first quarter of 2023. SaaS revenues were NOK 126 million in the quarter, an increase of 42 percent compared to the first quarter of 2023. Recurring revenue constituted 71 percent of total revenues and reached NOK 284 million in the quarter, an increase of 27 percent from the first quarter of 2023. On the Q1 results, our CEO, Trond Straume, said: “It remains our aim to facilitate and empower every participant in the energy landscape to play a constructive role in advancing the transition to sustainability. This will support our ambition to be the number one software and software-backed service provider to the European energy system by 2030.
