This one hits home! Working on a digital product we see growing sales, more and more passengers traveling with Tryp.com, but all of that is behind screens. Our growth is in dashboards, and our travelers are out there, exploring the world. However, this week something special is happening. Tryp.com's first TV commercial is being filmed, to be in two major TV channels in 2025. Even though all the magic is happening in Lisbon, and thus for some of the team members, still behind a screen, it feels more real than ever! Exciting times ahead! "I was having lunch. I received an email saying I was accepted to study in Denmark. But I had to be there in three days. I quit my job in Portugal and started packing!" Sofia Maia is the Head of Marketing at Tryp.com. And if life taught her something was to never say no to new challenges. So, she didn´t say no, when a few days into an internship at Tryp.com, she was offered a full-time position. "I saw Tryp.com going big, and as a space to build something". And build she did! She started a Tiktok channel, created countless viral videos, grew the Instagram account to more than 85 thousand followers, and endless other marketing initiatives. "I love to be independent and have creative freedom: I don´t like to be in a box." Indeed growing up in a small city in the north of Portugal she always loved creativity, painting, and building things. After some time in Denmark, she returned to Portugal - probably missed the good weather and family. "I wanted to be a theoretical physicist. Till I found programming in my 10th grade!" Born in the north of India, in the city of Kanpur, and now 24 years old, Jai Sharma is a front-end developer and shareholder of Tryp.com. When he was a kid, every Sunday, together with his older brother, Jai wouldn´t miss Neil deGrasse's Cosmos show about space. Learning about black holes, wormholes, and all space-related things made him dream big. But when he learned about HTML he became fascinated. "I changed some colors and it was like magic for me at that time. So ever since I fell in love with coding and just kept learning and pushing." With that newfound interest, and with the encouragement of his older brother, Jai decided to move to Delhi and pursue a bachelor's in software engineering. In the big city, he started to explore new projects and go deeper into the coding world. One day he found Tryp.com on Reddit and felt he could have an impact on the project. He started talking with the team and was welcomed as a front-end developer: as a curious learner, Jai had already extensive baggage of front-end development experience from personal projects. Since then, he has headed many big tasks, like our app development, search features, and many more.
