Exciting Health Day at Schaeffler! Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting a Health Day, where Miriam Schmidt from BARMER joined us to share insights on self-health. One of the highlights was a station filled with delicious, healthy snacks like nuts and dried fruits—true Brain Food! 🍏 Engaging in activities that promote our well-being is essential, and it’s great to see initiatives like this fostering a healthier workplace. In an interview with the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Jens Willem Schueler, CEO of Schaeffler Vehicle Lifetime Solutions, spoke about overcoming challenges in the automotive industry. Despite market obstacles, Schaeffler is seizing opportunities in its VLS division, fuelled by the trend towards ageing vehicles. "The global market is growing by three to four percent annually. Our aim is to exceed this growth", says Jens. Recent moves, such as the acquisition of Vitesco, will strengthen the presence of the Vehicle Lifetime Solution division within the mobility ecosystem. As the industry evolves towards electromobility, Schaeffler VLS remains agile and strategic, ready to thrive in the future landscape. Volunteering is everywhere help is needed – like with our colleague Simon Baensch, who was rescued by the volunteer fire brigade at the age of 20 after being cut out of a car following an accident. He later became a member himself: "I am so grateful for their help; without the fire brigade, I probably wouldn't be here today. This drives me to give back and help others." On this International Volunteer Day, we celebrate the diverse efforts of all voluntary helpers. Many of our Schaeffler employees also devote their time to the well-being of people, animals, and the environment. 🙏💚 A great example can be seen in two teams at our Shared Service Center in Wrocław, Poland: Good Mood and BeBetter. These teams inspire and organize various social initiatives, including planting thousands of trees in the neighborhood, cleaning parks and forests, supporting hospices for children and shelters for animals, and participating in charity sports events. Additionally, they organize internal events such as hosting days, where employees' children can playfully learn about their parents' workplace. There are also special activities for teenagers that offer them a first glimpse into the professional world. Thanks to their contribution, the team spirit and engagement of the employees is greatly elevated. In addition to Simon, our colleague Harald Meier has been an active member for over 30 years at one of Bavaria's oldest fire brigades in Regensburg. He not only protects the UNESCO World Heritage site from fires and floods but also trains the youth. Johannes Weiss has been with the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) for nearly 25 years and leads the "Infrastructure" specialist group. The THW is deployed during disaster or emergency situations. For Johannes, it is more than a service; it's a passion: "I am fascinated by the heavy machinery, like cranes, and especially the camaraderie with like-minded people. We're there for the community when needed, more so now than ever before." 🤝 Ashwin Pawar from Schaeffler India shows his commitment by working towards a sustainable future: He and around 50 other Schaeffler employees planted 400 saplings as part of a large-scale agroforestry project that covers a total area of 400 hectares. This initiative highlights the wide variety of voluntary services and how both people and our environment can benefit from them. 🌱 And animals also need care and help. Peter Wlacil regularly volunteers at the Nuremberg Animal Shelter, where he actively contributes. Here, it’s not just about petting the animals, but about creating a pleasant living environment for them. The volunteers assist with gardening, cleaning, and repairs, and they lovingly take care of all the animals. #InternationalVolunteerDay #WeAreSchaeffler #VolunteerWork
