Software solutions for the world of tomorrow
Info
At the DLR Institute of Software Technology, we are dedicated to providing highly-developed software and computing solutions for advanced engineering applications. Our approach involves a deep dive into the basic research of emerging fields such as Quantum Computing, Digital Twins and AI, coupled with the development and evaluation of specialized software solutions for aeronautics, space, transport, energy, and security at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). We believe in transfer and collaboration. We therefore provide a significant portion of our code as open source and cooperate closely with academic and industrial partners. If you are passionate about engineering software to tackle technical and societal challenges, and enjoy working as part of an international team in one of Germany’s prime locations for research, the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Take the first step towards an exciting career by applying for one of our advertised positions or submitting a speculative application at dlr.de/jobs.

Meet our newest team member – a true expert on human AI interaction! 🤖 🧠 We're excited to welcome the #social #robot #Navel to our team! He will help us explore how AI-powered interactions can enhance human-computer collaboration. Our research will explore how key factors in human-like responses - such as tone of voice and facial expressions - can influence interactions with AI robots. Stay tuned for updates as we delve into the fascinating world of social robotics and AI-driven interaction! ✨ #socialrobot #human_AI_interaction #hci

We are exploring potential collaborations in #quantum #computing #software, particularly in the area of #access #software and have found just the right partners at Technische Universität München and the Leibniz-Rechenzentrum !🍀 There is a significant thematic overlap, which will help us in joint efforts. Together with planqc and d-fine we are already developing the platform #QCIConnect, which which will provide unified access to the various quantum computers of the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. A meeting with our colleagues from Munich gave us the opportunity to present #Quark and #Quapps, our software libraries for mapping application problems, in particular combinatorial optimisation problems, to analogue and digital quantum computers. ➡️ Quark on GitLab: https://lnkd.in/eAYFMW_R ➡️ Quapps on GitLab: https://lnkd.in/eKhE3DCq After introducing QCIConnect and other quantum computing efforts to the TU München and the Leibniz-Rechenzentrum, we are now looking forward to continuing the exchange with all five scientific participants. ✨

📢 New paper on our joint quantum computing research with FZ Jülich: "Limitations of Quantum Approximate Optimization in Solving Generic Higher-Order Constraint-Satisfaction Problems" Read on Arxiv: https://lnkd.in/eGR78zPE
PhD in Quantum Computing | Combinatorial Optimization | Superconducting Qubits | Quantum Algorithms | Medical Image Processing
Happy to share a collaboration https://lnkd.in/ecT6gedS with Forschungszentrum Jülich , Tim Bode, Ajainderpal Singh Bajwa. In our latest study, we benchmarked the Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA) against a classical mean-field approximation on Max-kXOR problems, a family of NP-hard optimization problems, for up to k=10. The results show that while QAOA holds some potential for large k in particular, it struggles with high-complexity problems due to the need for deep circuits—challenging for current quantum hardware. This research emphasizes the need for continued comparison between quantum and classical methods to understand where quantum computing can truly excel in real-world optimization.
