Maximize the Potential of Artificial Intelligence for Installed Base Customers AI is in everyone's head and of course customers would like to benefit from it as well in grown landscapes. Key to success is (very obviously and not surprisingly) standardization: to take full advantage of #AI, companies should standardize their systems as much as possible. A "clean core" facilitates the integration and use of AI solutions. The closer your system is to the standard, the better you can use the existing AI functions. But, how to get there and where to find help from SAP?   New implementation and transformation: With a new implementation, you have the option of keeping your system "clean" from the outset. For existing systems, it is important to become as clean as possible in order to maximize connectivity and the use of AI. But not always customers have the ability, willingness and business support for a new implementation. So, how to effectively clean a system that is coming from a system conversion. Here #RISE with SAP can come into the picture. With the migration and modernization offerings of RISE with SAP we take customers by the hand and lead them actively through the steps to come to a clean core, no matter if coming in with an old ECC system or already with an S/4HANA system. How? With the clean core dashboard, customers get a KPI driven insight on where they are with regards to clean core. With the Enterprise architecture support, we help them to navigate into a clean and lean system setup. Cloud ALM and the connected quality gates for the implementation identify the important milestones on the way to the clean and lean implementation. Last but not least, the new #Joule Consultant "knows all answers" and the AI supported code generation will help to reduce old, non-conform custom code. In addition, our valued Partners have the opportunity to benefit significantly. If a lot of custom code is available, partners can help to define, develop or adapt data models. This ensures that business AI expertise is used effectively.   At the #SAPPHIRE conference, SAP showed how important it is to take system transformation seriously. The possibilities offered by AI are immense, but to fully exploit them, systems need to be kept as standardized and clean as possible.

One large step for SAP, one giant step for GenAI! 🚀 Another great session from #Know24 with Hardy Kuhn and Steffen Meyer on combining ServiceNow and SAP's intelligent automation with AI. The results speak for themselves: 20+ AI use cases, 55% efficiency gain, 80% satisfaction score! Things I loved about this session: 👩‍💻 Emphasised the importance of combining human capabilities with machine strengths to enhance customer support and cloud operations processes. Initial use cases leveraged AI integration in SAP's Intelligent Automation framework to harmonise ITSM processes across 24 lines of business, using GenAI for case summaries, information collection, and decision support based on user feedback. Not a small feat given SAP has 50,000 agents on the ServiceNow platform, handling 3 million cases annually, with a large CMDB of 26 million active assets. Hardy and Steffen shared an interesting machine learning use case involving swarming, where AI brings together experts to analyse and fix complex customer issues based on past resolutions and similarities. 🤖 Highlighted the latest advancements in IT service management and stressed the need for understanding the benefits and costs of each AI use case. To test the premise of value, SAP set up a playground with limited data for limited users and a defined set of use cases - feedback-based voting was used to refine prompts, and by year-end, everything was pushed to production ready for largest user groups. In terms of AI investment, SAP now use a mix of in-house models and out-of-the-box capabilities from ServiceNow. 🚸 The importance of balancing value and risk, noting that the right ecosystem and partnerships are essential for AI adoption - data readiness and collaboration with Accenture was critical to their success. They also stressed the need to educate people on AI capabilities and risks to ensure adoption and address fears. Reflections on Day 2 at DSAG in Leipzig: IT Landscape and SAP Transitions Current IT Landscape & S/4HANA Adoption: A significant portion of companies (47%) still operate on #ECC (On-Premises), while 42% have moved to #S4HANA On-Premise!. However, cloud adoption remains slow, with just 8% using S/4HANA Cloud (#RISE) and 3% on S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition (#GROW), signaling a cautious approach toward cloud migration. Impact on Software Maintenance Costs: Keynote speakers urged SAP to reconsider its #maintenance fees, particularly as On-Premise solutions are being phased out. As companies weigh their options, the cost of maintaining #legacy systems will be crucial in driving cloud #transition decisions. Future Path for #ECC Users: Among the 47% ECC users, 39% plan to migrate to S/4HANA On-Premise, and 24% are considering RISE cloud Options, the remainder is undecided. BTP’s Expanding Role: With 41% of companies already using SAP’s Business Technology Platform (#BTP), it’s clear that BTP is becoming a key enabler of future digital transformation. Another 19% are considering integration, while 24% remain undecided.
