🌟 Headhunter Chronicles 🌟 I was contacted by a headhunter some time ago. It was a job offer via cold outreach, which means I didn’t request any details or send a CV to get their attention. Intrigued, I responded with a "Sure, why not. We can discuss the potential opportunities." We scheduled a call, and once we connected, the recruiter started the conversation with the following words: "I am not completely sure you are a good fit for us, but we can try and see what happens." My question to you, my HR connections: Do you feel this is the best way to start a recruitment interview, especially if the prospect came from cold outreach? 🤔 PS. Our conversation lasted less than 5 minutes. 😊 #recruitment #headhunter #HR #coldoutreach #jobinterview #careerjourney

Happy International HR day to all! "We are human resources alright, but humans first and resources later"! This year's theme - Shaping the New Future, well resonates with the future of work and a telling diagnosis of today's work-as-usual, that will mimic the "has been" soon. Firstly a silent pat on the back for HR Practitioners, who strive and survive the corporate shenanigans, though they might not fully subscribe to the unreasonableness and often picked out more for failures than success. While there are glorious exceptions of evolved HRs and highly energized talents showing the way which is inspiring, most of the rest are either high on optics & short on realities or still commoditized. As the talent landscape evolves amidst the future of work, there will surely be re-alignment of priorities and most HR will take center stage, for the right reasons. For wellbeing alone, HRs can no longer "yoga" their way to a tick box while gaslighting is omnipresent and biometrics dominate actual productivity indices. As for the biggest elephant in the room, Culture is what culture does, its not about talents eternally adapting to the one present but also organizations evolving to the culture that the best of talents desire. A reflection on the above earlier, through the Khaleej Times article on Work life, reproduced below. Lets evolve and revolve around what's best for talents, the future looks brighter! Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending the Hiring Excellence Meetup organized by Productboard & Ashby It was cool to meet so many HR experts in one place! 👥 One of the topics discussed really stuck in my brain: What happens when a CXO suddenly requests the hiring of e.g. 40 engineers? This scenario perfectly illustrates the challenge of reactive versus strategic recruitment. 🧠 In my opinion, such significant hiring initiatives should ideally not occur in isolation but as a result of strategic discussions involving multiple departments—Sales, Product, Finance—and guided by top leadership like the CRO, CEO or Chief of Product. 🧩What I want to say is that recruitment strategy is just a piece of the puzzle and in healthy organisations leaders should not just “throw” hiring requests at HR and expect them to “dance”. Simultaneously, HR - or more precisely, Talent Acquisition - shouldn't just passively wait for directives, but should actively participate in the company’s growth strategy and anticipate future hiring needs. Oh, and if a sudden request disrupts your typical hiring focus, like needing a sales expert in a predominantly tech-oriented team (or vice versa), that's exactly when the value of specialised external partners comes in. 🔍 Because whether you need an IT recruitment agency or a Sales Recruitment agency, these experts can significantly reduce your time to hire, boost efficiency, help you to maintain focus and ensure you don’t miss out on the ideal candidate. 🚀 Anyway, all in all I really enjoyed the meetup and loved meeting Willem Wijnans, 𝓩𝓭𝓮𝓷𝓴𝓪 Gillarová, Zbynek Novotny, Viktoria Galik, Martin Bolek, and many others. I’m just a bit sad I missed Matt Slavik 🙂. And if you have reached this point, feel free to share how your organization integrates strategic planning into hiring processes? Have you found value in partnering externally to meet your recruitment needs? 💬 #RecruitmentStrategy #HiringExcellence #Leadership #StrategicPlanning #HRManagement #TalentAcquisition #BusinessGrowth #ProductBoard #Ashby

If given a chance would I change my career or choose a different field? I would always still choose to work with the People or HR function. Some thoughts of working in the people function for over 10+ years The HR function has evolved so much from the traditional HR services provided in the last decades. The introduction of new roles in HR, like Business Partners, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, etc has changed the game. Being in HR you can’t run away from administrative duties, and policies those will always be there But now you have an opportunity to be more of a strategic partner who has an influence over the business in creating an Organisational structure, hiring, and growing the right talents. You have to be passionate about working with people to work in HR if you want to thrive. The grass is always greener on the other side so when choosing a career in HR few things I can highlight. - Employees will look at you differently and forget that you are also an employee. - You have to have the maturity to execute certain tasks without being very emotional. - Putting business needs over yours ( of course not your well-being) - You are not always appreciated nothing personal just the perception of employees have about HR. In many ways working in HR is very rewarding in its way! 🙏🏽 Shout out to all my HR network 💪🏽 #humanresources #hr #talentacquisition #careers #jobs

#sales- Can be fun and rewarding, but is often seen as a down market career option. #10reasons and #5benefits why its a great option:) Around 45 years ago I took the gamble to join Sales:) Despite being an engineer and a quiet individual :) Which I still surprisingly am even after the grind :) And realised over the next 4 decades that Sales is actually simpler and more rewarding than it seems and a great learning experience. And toughens you up to better handle the challenges of the life ahead. For numerous reasons. Just wrote 10 reasons that came to my mind without thinking. - Its more about the art of communication. - Its also about the art of listening before talking. - Its about dealing with unknown people to start with and breaking the ice. - Its about not being seen as a salesperson :) That's a tricky one:) - Its about preparing, anticipating, being seen as an ally, not a trickster. - Its about building relations and trust with existing clients. - Its about being able to handle rejections and no response without taking it personally. - Its about thinking, strategising, planning how to sell an idea to your clients/consumers, team, other stakeholders or leaders. - Its about energising yourself and your team even when the chips are down. - Its about absorbing pressure like a sponge and not letting it drip much to the team. So how does this help ? - In most front facing organisations its often the Sales guys ( the revenue generators) who tend to move up faster up the career ladder. To Business Manager and Leader roles and in many cases all the way up. as they have ground level understanding of the market which many others may not have as much. - A good Sales guy can switch roles and industries a lot easier than say a niche, functional expert who likes to specialise in that niche. - Most businesses are seen as successful only when they grow, scale, expand, dominate their segment, be it a large corporate, a family business, an SME, a startup. - The means that besides great product/service/experience is how well aligned and trained and hungry the Sales or Business teams are to managing clients, channel partners, associates, new products or revenue streams. - And most organisations know that to drive those growth parameters, they need to reward, recognise and incentivise these frontliners constantly. Quite often we see the Sales team making loads more money than other support roles. And they may not say it, but think -we bring in the money honey :) Besides all this life and career success is also a lot about how one positions oneself - at networks, in alumni circles, in peer groups, in family groups, in handling tough situations, in the way one continues to persevere against odds, never give up...... Some of the early trainings of going through the tough grind, pressure, rejections do come in pretty useful later on :) Guess that is enough reason to reconsider one's bias towards "sales" people ? Happy to hear more thoughts

I need input from my network for today's reflection: I don't know if the situation was similar a few years ago, but nowadays I strongly believe there are no isolated departments in organizations; every single person is responsible for everything regarding the workplace. Are HR people the only ones who care about people being happy? Are salespeople the only ones generating value and revenue for the company? Are operations people the only ones making things flow and work correctly? Are IT people the only ones implementing and using technology? Definitely not. Everyone is responsible for each of these: we should all care about others, bring in revenue, ensure things flow correctly, and implement new technologies. The trend toward cross-functional collaboration and the breaking down of traditional silos is turning stronger. In today’s fast-paced and interconnected business environment, having a holistic approach is crucial. People must wear multiple hats, understand the broader business context, and contribute beyond their primary roles. Adam Smith's theory of division of labor is obsolete now. We are not just part of a cluster or department; we are constantly mixing. This blending of roles enhances innovation and agility, as diverse perspectives converge to solve complex problems. But at the same time, this turns quite demanding and potentially frustrating. So, genuine collaboration and a clear vision are what will probably make a business successful. Empowering employees to think beyond their job descriptions and encouraging interdisciplinary teamwork can lead to remarkable outcomes. What do you guys think?

Today is World Mental Health Day 💚 & as an Executive Assistant in a fast-paced fintech company Intuit, I know first-hand just how overwhelming it can be to stay on top of everything. Being an EABP often means juggling 🤹♂️ multiple tasks and responsibilities, staying on top of constant communication streams, and managing hectic schedules of our executives. On this day dedicated to mental health, I want to give a big shout-out to all my fellow Admin professionals out there who may be feeling the weight of their workload. As an EA, it is important to prioritize self-care, whether it's through exercise, meditation, or taking a break to recharge. By taking care of ourselves, we can better support our execs & teams and ensure that we are operating at our best. I still can't wrap my head around this. A while ago, a friend of mine was approached by a recruiter. So far, so good. But: He was contacted via his professional email. This alone should be a no-go for any recruiter worth his salt. Especially, as this person is on LinkedIn (and other social media). But what's even more cheeky is that he was asked to submit his CV in advance, without any introduction to the role and / or a client they were recruiting for (❗). They would get back to him if he was considered for the role😲. For a C-level role, that is! Excuse me? You ask someone for their personal data, but you don't have the courtesy to talk to them first and explain the opportunity at hand. How can you possibly expect candidates to trust you or even take you seriously? And how did you select that person in the first place if you don't even know if they qualify as a potential candidate?🤔 Where's the professional ethics of this recruiter? And what about GDPR? 👉 I urge all my fellow professionals out there to behave better🙏. Our professional reputation is fragile enough as it is. I guarantee you: With an unblemished reputation, your job (and mine and every other recruiter's) will be so much easier! Here's a tip from someone who's been around the block (a few times😅: 💡 Despite the deadlines you may face, recruiting is a long-term game. PS. Like what you see? It seems like one of the hottest topics in Sales Enablement right now, according to recent discussions on LinkedIn and other industry content I have seen, is the increasing integration of AI and automation into sales processes. The focus seems to be on how AI can streamline sales activities, enhance customer personalization, and improve overall sales efficiency. My question is for the Sales Enablement pros out there... If your company has provided access of any AI tools, who is training your Sales Reps on these tools? Is the enablement team creating documentation, webinars, and courses that show them how to best utilize these tools? Is the vendor working directly with the Sales Reps at leadership's request? Are you facilitating that relationship between the vendor and the end user? Spending money on fancy tools is the easy part. The hard part is enabling the end users to use those tools properly in a way that truly makes them more successful. I'd love to hear what this looks like in your org, and in general, how enablement is partnering with the business to implement any kind of AI resources. If you're not comfortable sharing here, feel free to DM me.

What do I discuss with my brother during holidays?✨️🏖 My brother Filip Nagy lives in Italy, and when I come here, it's basically my holiday.😁 I still work, but less than usual, so it feels like a break☀️ When we do things together, like enjoying amazing Italian food 🍝 or visiting monuments 🏛️, we dive into all sorts of discussions💪🏿 Here are some of the topics we talked about during this holiday. Many of these are challenges we're actively working on these days: - How to motivate the #sales team to perform during tough times? 💪 - What is the role of a CMO in a #startup vs. a corporation? 🎯 - How to create a bombastic pitch deck 🚀 - How to know when a product lacks product-market fit and when to cut your losses? 💡 - What’s the right #conversion rate from cold outreach and the ideal length of a sales deal? How can we improve it? 📈 Are we weird? 🤔 Should we be discussing non-work-related stuff?😅

Someone once told me that I can't be everything to everyone and nothing to myself. 😲 "You're not a jar of nutella Nastasja, you can't please everyone". 😕 😂 In a high performance role, it's difficult to remember that the most important person you need to please is yourself. An honest day of work, filled with maximum effort will likely result in success. Some months will have more success and some less, as this is the cycle most industries experience. It is important to remember to not beat yourself up because as long as you're truly doing the best you can, what more can anyone ask of you? Will making more calls get you more appointments? Maybe. Will making targeted and creative drops get you more appointments? Most likely. Work hard. Think outside of the box. Be present and be gentler on yourself while making time for yourself...be your own jar of nutella. 🤗 #reflection #sales #burnout #advice #hr #payroll

Based on interviews, meetings and events I had the past days, I wanted to talk about "The Golden Rule" which I found being a Foundation for both Personal and Professional Success 🙌 In the fast-paced world of business, it's easy to get caught up in the pursuit of profit, growth, and success. However, it's really important to remember one basic rule: treating others the way you would like to be treated. This age-old rule, known as the Golden Rule, is not only about being ethical, but also about building strong relationships and achieving success in the long run, both in your personal life and at work. As a mum deeply invested in my children's education and well-being, I've come to realize the profound impact that instilling this principle has on their development. From an early age, we teach our children the importance of kindness, empathy, and respect towards others. We emphasize the significance of treating their peers, teachers, and community members with dignity and compassion, understanding that such values lay the groundwork for meaningful connections and a harmonious society. But the application of the Golden Rule extends far beyond the realm of parenting. In the workplace, it serves as a guiding principle for effective leadership, teamwork, and organizational culture. When leaders prioritize respect, empathy, and fairness in their interactions with employees, they foster a positive work environment where individuals feel valued, supported, and motivated to perform at their best. Moreover, the Golden Rule is intricately linked to mental health and well-being. Research has consistently shown that positive social connections and a sense of belonging are essential factors in promoting mental wellness. In today's interconnected world, where diversity and inclusion are essential, embracing the Golden Rule isn't just a moral imperative – it's a strategic advantage. Organizations that prioritize respect, empathy, and fairness attract top talent, cultivate loyal customers, and build strong, enduring relationships with stakeholders. As leaders, it's our responsibility to lead by example and uphold the principles of the Golden Rule in all aspects of our lives. By doing so, we not only create a positive impact on those around us but also inspire others to follow suit, creating a ripple effect of kindness and compassion that extends far beyond our immediate sphere of influence. By treating others the way we would like to be treated, we not only enrich our personal and professional relationships but also contribute to a world where empathy, respect, and understanding reign supreme. My recent discussions with Nibale Bou Sleiman Mouawad Joe Sejean Leila Lahbabi Leanna Newman, MCIPD, MA PMD Rana Baydoun- Reckart about the same topic have inspired me. After being in the job market for 10 years, I have had my ups and downs and my fair share of experiences when it comes to companies' cultures. Working in HR and OD, and particularly in headhunting then in consulting, I have heard the most absurd stories from employees and candidates about their own experiences in companies as well. One thing I am truly tired of is inauthentic and performative initiatives that are disguised as employee wellbeing programs or employee engagement initiatives. When employees are repetitively screaming for fair pay, work-life balance, stability, and a pleasant environment to be productive in, our parties & gatherings and our wellness programs will be nothing more than pretty pictures and videos to post on LinkedIn. As HR and as People & Culture leaders, where do we draw the line? It all starts with empathy and actually listening attentively, whether it's the CEO speaking or any employee. We may not be able to resolve or address every single problem, but the fact that we listened, proposed solutions, and tried to address the root cause of these issues, means that we are putting our energy, time and effort into the core of why we exist as a department. Otherwise, we are contributing to the active disengagement and resentment that surrounds us sometimes. Employer branding is essential, but authentic employee wellbeing is the best brand image you can build and it attracts the best of what the market has to offer. As HR and OD professionals, it is true that being influencers is now an integral part of our work, but true influence is not about how many questions we answer on LinkedIn or how much we post online. True influence in leadership is having a knowledgeable voice and an opinion that is heard, valued, respected and taken into consideration when management is taking major decisions. We can always do more and do better, we just have to listen more and act accordingly. #HumanResources #OrganizationalDevelopment #EmployeeExperience #EmployeeEngagement #Empathy
