This morning, Dirk Voigtländer and I presented ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE’s key financial results for the first quarter of 2024 and we can clearly say: Our strong start to the year shows that we are on the right track. In 2023, we have set a new course both operationally and strategically. In the first quarter, we are now seeing the first clear effects of our efficiency measures with Group revenues increasing by 6% and adjusted EBITDA growing by 35% year-on-year. The advertising business, which is particularly important for us, is continuing to recover – especially #Joyn is growing strongly. This shows that our strategic focus on digital reach pays off. At the same time, the Commerce & Ventures segment once again recorded significant double-digit revenue growth. Verivox GmbH and flaconi in particular are performing strongly. Even though the market and economic environment remains challenging, we are looking to 2024 with confidence and are therefore confirming our full-year outlook. We will continue to focus clearly on the strategically relevant business areas related to our Entertainment portfolio and continue our consistent management of costs and cash flows. Today, ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE released quarterly results - and as CEO and CFO of NCG – NUCOM GROUP SE and the #CommerceandVentures segment I am extremly proud of our strong performance: Our revenues in the Commerce & Ventures segment increased organically by 22% to EUR 622 million in the first nine months of 2024 and in Q3 alone we achieved a 22% increase, reaching EUR 218 million. Adjusted EBITDA grew strongly by 55% in Q3 2024 mainly driven by positive revenue development, and in the nine-month period we almost tripled our earnings. The standout performer has been our Beauty & Lifestyle business flaconi which has thrived even amidst a general consumer slowdown with a revenue growth of 38%. Our Consumer Advice vertical with assets such as online comparison portal Verivox GmbH and Aroundhome continues to show steady growth, and we are seeing positive developments in our Media-for-Revenue and Media-for-Equity investment models at SevenVentures. With that strong tailwind, we will focus on maintaining our profitbale growth story in the final quarter of the year and expect the revenue momentum in the Commerce & Ventures segment to continue even in a difficult economic environment. Google's latest sustainability report reveals a staggering 48% increase in CO₂ emissions compared to 2019, reaching 14.3 million tons last year. This surge, despite greater use of wind and solar energy, is attributed to the heightened energy consumption of data centers for AI applications and the additional infrastructure required to meet growing AI demand. Similarly, Microsoft reported a 29% rise in emissions over the previous year due to increased investments in technology infrastructure.I am genuinely surprised by the 48% increase. These figures are a wake-up call highlighting the environmental cost of our rapid technological advancements. Yet, there's an inspiring takeaway: despite these challenges, both Google and Microsoft remain committed to their climate goals, aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by the end of this decade.This serves as a crucial reminder for all of us in the tech industry: innovation must go hand in hand with sustainability. Start-up Award Analytics and Data Management: this year's winner has been announced, and congratulations to Scavenger AI! As every year, it's part of Big Data & AI World Frankfurt with BARC: four finalists present their innovative solutions, and I've been honored to be part of the high-caliber jury for many years. We always have FOUR winners because it is already difficult to make it to the final - but this year especially because all four really deserved it. Nevertheless, we had to make a decision: Maximilian Hahnenkamp (on the photo left) and Felix Beissel (right), co-founders of Scavenger AI, convinced us with an innovative combination of different AI modules with which they challenge classic BI and reporting solutions. Axel Henes with "SemanticOne" impressed me with the great visualization (Rolf Hichert, inspired by you!) - Conversional AI packaged for financial reporting. Dr. Wolfgang Faisst with ValueWorks.ai convinced me with great content-rich BI solutions for SMEs - many years of experience from top management consulting packaged in software And Dr. Simon Harrer with Data Mesh Manager has a bold and innovative approach to Data Contract Management - not only the software, but also the approach to the process and standards in this area is very promising. I wish all four of them a great future! - If we can give the finalists some help along the way by giving them more visibility in the market, then the purpose of this award is fulfilled. So take a look at the four great solutions! As I do every year, I take the opportunity to look back at the winners from previous years. All are doing well, in addition to a 100m+ exit, one former winner has just successfully closed another funding round. I'm sure Scavenger will continue this tradition!

Here are 🖐 5 “aha moments” from our experiences in the area of commercial go-to-market (#GTM). I had a super engaging conversation (in German 🇩🇪 ) with Björn W. Schäfer as part of his podcast format “The SaaS Symphony” about #GTM key learnings in working with our portfolio companies in the different stages. Regular reassessment is key to staying aligned with market needs. 3️⃣ PMF is a Process — You will never “have” PMF: Treat PMF like a health score, tracking regularly to ensure your product matches the market perfectly. 4️⃣ Inseparable Duo: GTM & PMF: Success in GTM hinges on achieving PMF. Both must sync for market success. 5️⃣ Flywheel effects accelerate future GTM approaches: A successful GTM sets the stage for further expansion. I have to confess that I have been nervous: Standing on this massive stage in front of an 11k people audience and speaking to no one less than Mateo Price, Chief Strategy Officer of MrBeast. 🤯 What a beast of an experience… 😉 During our interview on the OMR Conference stage this Tuesday, Mateo shared fascinating insights on how AI is transforming their creative process. My biggest three take aways: 1. Mateo outlined their creative process, spanning ideation, design, production, editing and localisation. AI tools are already being utilized broadly! 2. AI’s biggest benefit is saving time: As MrBeast reinvests every single dollar back into new video production, their main constraint is time. AI tools enable them to work faster and more efficiently. 3. Their favourite AI tool is Aloud, Youtube's dubbing feature, and multi-language-audio: MrBeast's content is already available in 15 languages around the globe. And now the best news of the week: Soon, there will be a 16th language available – GERMAN! 🎉 This is a perfect example of what I believe: AI will significantly enhance creativity. 💪 At YouTube, we're thrilled to see how top content creators like MrBeast experiment with AI tools.
