Reflecting on his time at #tkMC, Tobias shares: “Working at tkMC helped me build a great network within and outside thyssenkrupp. I had the chance to experience diverse working environments - whether collaborating with board members of tk AG or directly with teams at our plants. The intensive collaboration with a variety of functions and the varying projects offered a great overview of our businesses in a short amount of time.” One highlight of Tobias' #tkMC journey? I also had the unique opportunity to visit our submarine production in Kiel and some of our highly automated automotive plants." 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗸𝗠𝗖 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 - 𝗢𝘂𝗿 “𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗺 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗵” Last Thursday, a part of our team came together for a special event: our Plenum Austausch! But what exactly is the Plenum? The Plenum is one pillar of #tkMC’s culture – a group of colleagues, who are not part of the management team. The goal is to enable everyone at #tkMC to live our speak-up culture and contribute to our great team. Each year, representatives are elected. Two of their responsibilities is to bring ideas forward and to discuss concerns of the plenum with the management team. Adding to that our Plenum Representatives often organize events for the entire team! Last week’s meeting was bittersweet, marking the final official event for our current Plenum Reps Lasse, Karoline, Andrej, and Dennis. 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 Jakob: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁? Ever wondered what it's like to start your career in consulting? Our former working student Jakob started his journey in July as a Junior Consultant at #tkMC. After finishing his bachelor’s degree, Jakob was drawn to tkMC due to our high ambition environment and great team spirit with a diverse project landscape. Now, as a Junior Consultant, he's diving deep into strategic initiatives across thyssenkrupp. "I'm the sparring partner for the operative level on performance programs and often conduct quantitative analysis," Jakob explains. But it's not all about crunching numbers - Jakob's role has given him unique insights into various industries. "I even learned how steel is produced, from sourcing coal and ores to delivering coils!" For those aspiring to join us, Jakob advises: "Soak up as much knowledge as possible when studying or seek advice during internships, never be shy to ask for feedback, and be able to implement it." At #tkMC we value exactly that. The best part? These trainings are delivered by longtime team members for new team members. Our Toolkit Week is packed with many training sessions covering topics like problem-solving, Excel, slide writing, or project management. Because, we know that success at #tkMC is about more than just hard skills we also take the opportunity to dive into #tkMC's values, highlighting what we stand for and what makes our culture unique. While learning is at the core of Toolkit Week, team bonding is equally important to us. Shared lunches and dinners as well as evening get-togethers after each day's activities promote a strong team spirit among the new participants. 𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 – 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗸𝗠𝗖 Starting strong means feeling supported from Day 1 at #tkMC. That’s why we pair each new joiner with a “buddy” even before arriving as a new colleague. Take Henrik, who joined a few months ago, with Lasse as his buddy. Lasse shared: "It's the perfect opportunity to connect with new joiners and help them integrate into our great team. Everyone faces similar challenges when joining a new workplace and we can support each other in overcoming these." For our new joiner Henrik, it's been a great experience: "The tkMC buddy system is super helpful for me, especially in terms of getting familiar with the daily business in inhouse consulting. In combination with the great preparation by the recruiting team, I felt ready from Day 1." 💪 And sometimes, it’s about more than work! 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁? 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘁? Last month, some of our colleagues met in Cologne for their Presence Training with the coach Anja Struchholz. This training is part of our trainings landscape for all employees and the goal is to learn to "be present". But what does that truly mean? This was exactly the question our colleagues asked themselves before. Here’s what they learned during the two-day training session with various exercises: Presence is the ability to be in authentic contact with oneself and one's surroundings in the present moment, thereby enabling a connection that can move, inspire and motivate others in one's own way. 🌟 Two things they all agreed on: "It is easy to underestimate how presence - whether through body language or the way you communicate - influences how others perceive you, both in business and your personal life. This is why it is so important to master this skill, in our opinion. The results presented by the participants? Full of potential - in our opinion, you did great! After an intense day of brainstorming, we wrapped up with pizza and pasta enjoying a pleasant evening. Congratulations! 🎉 Our colleagues Lukas Göbel and Thelen Frank, together with Novelis, have won an award in the #Circularity category at the PwC #Sustainability Awards. The winning factor: the intended co-creation “Automotive Circularity Platform”. In short, we would like to establish a market for secondary materials from end-of-life vehicles. This includes increasing the purity and thus the quality of the scrap materials in such a way that they can basically be reused in production. 🔄 The goal: to close material cycles – so that a high-quality component can become a high-quality component again.
