🌟 Martha "Pati" Ruiz Corzo named among Forbes México's 30 Most Sustainable Minds of 2024! 🌟 What a joy to see the investment of our partner Martha "Pati" Ruiz Corzo in protecting the mountains of Sierra Gorda, Mexico, highlighted and recognized. Pati’s has spearheaded a remarkable turnaround of this once degraded ecosystem leading the Grupo Ecológico Sierra Gorda I.A.P.. 🌿 She has also been a vital partner in our Comprehensive Carbon Ecosystem project where her vision inspires. Working alongside her this past year has been a privilege and a source of great inspiration. We hope this recognition will inspire others to create nature based solutions develop impactful, nature-based solutions to tackle climate change 📹 CNN also pays tribute to Pati’s hard work in a video where she shares her journey and the evolution of the project she has developed with the local community and the Secretariat of Sustainable Development of Querétaro, México over the years.

🌍 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹🌱 We’re happy to share the launch of Star Seed’s latest regeneration initiative: Pangani Revival. Located on Kenya’s picturesque coast, Pangani was once a flourishing limestone coral forest. Years of farming and mining degraded the soil and disrupted the ecosystem. Now, a new journey of restoration begins. In partnership with The LEAF Charity and 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, this project centers around an indigenous tree nursery. Carefully cultivated, these saplings will bring new life to the land and help restore its natural balance. 🌳 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 This initiative goes beyond reforestation. It’s about regenerating ecosystems, supporting local communities, and preserving biodiversity for future generations. 🌿 Turning waste into growth in Mara, Tanzania 🌿 Meet the farmers leading the way! 🌟 WeForest’s agroforestry initiative is transforming lives in the Butiama hills! This year, 194 new farmers (151 men and 43 women) joined the program, learning how to make and use compost and natural fertilizers from locally available materials. These training sessions are equipping communities with the tools to farm sustainably, enrich the soil, and strengthen their livelihoods. 💡 Why it’s needed: The Butiama hills have faced severe deforestation due to firewood harvesting, charcoal burning, and overgrazing. 🎯 WeForest’s goals: 🌳 Restore 3868 hectares of degraded woodlands with Assisted Natural Regeneration. 💧 Revive water catchments to benefit 46,000 people. 🌱 Support 1600 smallholder households with agroforestry systems, planting 3.57 million trees and protecting 1.65 million more. 🌿 Wildlife watch: a glimpse into the secret life of Glasin and Bielefeld projects biotopes! 🕵🏾🦌 After setting up camera traps on the Glasin and Bielefeld projects sites in mid-October, green account presents us with the first local animals whose images have been captured. Here are the first shots of our wild neighbors!🦊🦔🐦🐾 Through efforts like rewetting and forest protection, Green Account is creating safe havens for native flora and fauna. The cameras play a key role in monitoring how well these restoration measures are working. The trapcams help track which species return, how their populations grow, and the broader impact of Green Account’s actions on the biodiversity and health of these areas.📸✨ From mammals and birds to amphibians and insects, the “guests” are stepping into the frame and showing us how they’re settling into their renewed home. With this data, the teams can fine-tune their strategies to ensure these vital biotopes flourish for generations to come.
