Today’s PSA: Burnout doesn’t appear out of nowhere. It often stems from a deeper disconnect between employees and their work environment. Here are six common causes 👇 1️⃣ Lack of recognition — when good work isn’t rewarded, motivation and engagement drop 2️⃣ Unfair treatment — unequal rules or favoritism can lead to frustration and resentment 3️⃣ Lack of community — feeling isolated or excluded leaves employees unsupported 4️⃣ Overwhelming workload — too much to do with too few resources creates constant stress 5️⃣ Mismatched values — when employees feel their work lacks purpose or conflicts with personal values, it’s hard to stay motivated 6️⃣ Limited control — without autonomy or with micromanagement, employees feel powerless Addressing these issues isn’t optional — it’s essential. If you want a workplace where people thrive, you’ve got to build an environment where every team member feels empowered, supported, and valued 💜 #hr #peopleenablement #burnout

Entrepreneur I Co-CEO @ Leapsome I Shaping the future of work

Insight Partners flagship AI event, ScaleUp:AI, took place in Manhattan yesterday. It was a thought-provoking day featuring over 40 expert speakers. I also had the opportunity to bring some amazing female AI leaders together to attend the conference and have a small dinner later, reflecting on the conversations of the day (thank you for joining me Jessica Z., Kanene Ayo Holder, Sandhiya Thiruvengadam & Roxanne Bras Petraeus). Having all these great conversations and being encouraged to center my thinking on AI ahead of my own panel discussion with Tanya Dua & Carmine Visconti really brought home three insights that I want to focus on going into 2025: 🤖❤️ 𝐀𝐈 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧; 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐚 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and we need to be intentional about how we build AI into our workplaces to augment humans, aiming to create both better outcomes & productivity as well as improved employee well-being. 🔑 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞, 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡. This will require great leadership and change management skills. 1️⃣ We need to be clear and transparent about what our AI vision for our business is. 2️⃣ We then need to train and inspire our employees to leverage AI technologies effectively. 3️⃣ We need to be role models for responsible and effective use of AI and encourage best practice sharing among peers across the company. 4️⃣ Finally, we need to provide access to the right AI technology and applications for our product development, GTM, and people & business ops teams. The fuel to get this right will be clarity, effective communication, and a continuous learning & growth mindset across the business. 🌱 𝐈’𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐈 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 2025 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. We’ve seen a ton of experimentation with AI technologies in 2023, and lots of great initial AI application-layer products (with known limitations) being shipped and implemented across first customers in 2024. However, talking to many builders and users across tools and use cases, many tools still lag behind on adoption (see my previous posts on insights from our latest research). One key lever for better adoption will be effective leadership and change management, as to my point above, and we need to become so much more intentional and focused on managing this human change to truly leverage the potential of AI for our products, GTM efficiency, and our overall people & biz ops. Where do you stand on your change journey to truly leveraging AI in your business? Please comment! Thank you for an awesome event Nikki Parker Jennifer Jordan Hilary Gosher

Did you know it’s World Kindness Day? Well, now you do. We’re big on kindness and appreciation here at Leapsome, and if there’s one thing we love, it’s showing it (*cough* our Praise feature *cough* 🔌) Here’s how you can create a culture of appreciation in your workplace: ✨ Celebrate small wins: Regularly acknowledge your team’s small and big achievements. Every success deserves a moment of recognition. ✨ Act on feedback: Show your team that their voices matter. Encourage feedback and act on it to build a supportive and inclusive environment. ✨ Personalize acknowledgment: Tailor your recognition to each person’s preference. Whether it’s a private thank-you note or a public shoutout, make it meaningful. ✨ Encourage peer recognition: Create opportunities for team members to appreciate each other. Peer recognition fosters mutual respect and strengthens bonds. ✨ Team celebrations: Start or end meetings with a round of recognition to set a positive tone and bring everyone together. ✨ Reward effort, not just results: Acknowledge hard work and dedication, even when outcomes aren’t perfect. Effort deserves appreciation, too. ✨ Celebrate personal moments: Recognize important milestones like birthdays or life events to show your team that you value them as individuals. ✨ Lead by example: Set the tone by openly showing appreciation and gratitude. When leaders model kindness, it creates a ripple effect throughout the team — so let’s make it a priority today and every day 🤝 #WorldKindnessDay
