🌍 Making Renewable Heat Accessible for All Businesses   Started in October 2023 we have partnered with Naked Energy Ltd, a British design and engineering business, leading the global innovation in solar thermal and solar PVT(Photovoltaic thermal collectors).   Together, we are creating the next great value for our customers. With Heat-as-a-Service (HaaS), we are redefining how businesses decarbonise heat. That is why we recently led Naked Energy's £17 million Series B first close. The partnership was initiated by E.ON Group Innovation two years ago, which identified Naked Energy's industry-leading technology through its collaborative innovation approach.   💡 How does it work? Together, we fund the upfront costs of Naked Energy’s groundbreaking Virtu solar heat and power technologies, allowing businesses to pay for the energy generated over the lifetime of a contract - standard HaaS contracts last for 20 years.   🔑 Why is this a game-changer? No CAPEX required: Upfront and ongoing costs are classed as operational expenditure, freeing up funds for other priorities. ⚡ Making every charge count: What if doubling the use of your charging infrastructure didn’t require more stations? The right #chargingmanagement is a crucial element of e-mobility infrastructure. Our recent pilot with logistics provider FIEGE proves that innovative digital solutions can make all the difference. Using our #ChargeQ tool, employees registered for charging points using a simple QR code—no app downloads, no complex sign-ups! 📲 The result? Usage of the existing charging infrastructure doubled during the four-month trial. Not only does this maximize sustainability and efficiency, but it also helps companies like Fiege avoid costly expansions and ensures that fossil-free mobility is more accessible than ever. 🚗🔋 Looking ahead, we'll be feeding these findings into the work of the SeQueRe - Standardized Management of Queueing and Reservation for EV charging stations consortium, paving the way for user-friendly, market-wide standards in #eMobility. An exciting topic, diverse opinions, intense yet respectful discussions, a great host and a professional organization! This is a recipe for success: an impactful panel discussion delivered by the #KIInnovationSummit hosted by F.A.Z. Institut   AI has become one of the key ingredients in innovation to manage the #energytransition. It has delivered us a tremendous toolset and new opportunities to drive solutions we have not imagined a couple of years ago. One real-life example: If you want to install charging points in the underground car park of the #FAZ building, you will have cables that only allow a certain number of chargers to be installed. But if you implement an AI that learns the routine, when colleagues arrive and leave, we can install and manage up to seven times more chargers. And still everyone will leave the garage with a sufficiently charged car. Without #AI, it will simply be impossible to integrate renewable energy into our energy system in the way that we need. For me, this technology is another layer we can build on top of existing technologies and processes, to make them many times more efficient and more useful to us.   I highly appreciate the different positions on AI that we discussed in our panel: 👉 AI is an opportunity vs. AI is a threat 👉 Germany has lost the race vs. Germany is in the middle of the race 👉 AI is overregulated vs. Regulation is a chance to build new things a clear setting 👉 AI is a hype vs. AI is the key to solve the main challenges of our industries   It was my absolute pleasure to discuss these issues with my fellow panelists Frank Hensgens, Ramin Karbalaie, Dr. rer.nat. Corina Apachițețe & Anna Sophie Kühne – thank you for making me learn so much about your industries and how different opinions and experiences add up to a highly relevant and impactful panel discussion 😊 And thank you F.A.Z.
