⛔️ Top 7 visual ASO mistakes In this post, we’ve highlighted the most common mistakes in visual ASO that can lead to lower conversion-to-install rates: 🗿 Mistake 1: Creating an icon that doesn't reflect your app's purpose. Your icon is the first, and often the only, visual element a user sees in app store search results. It’s important that users can understand what the app is about at a glance. 📊 Mistake 2: Creating visual ASO without prior analysis. To achieve positive results with visual ASO: 🔹 Analyze competitors and identify which visuals will make your app stand out. 🔹 Consider the needs of your target audience and focus on the most in-demand app features. 🔹 Pay attention to seasonal changes. 🔹 Run A/B testing before implementing new visuals. 📉 Mistake 3: Changing several visual elements at once. If you change your icon and screenshots simultaneously, conversion may drop, and you won't know which change caused the issue. Start by A/B testing different icons to select the best one, then test screenshots and video previews. 📝 Mistake 4: Adding text that’s hard to read. According to ASO Benchmarks by SplitMetrics, about 50% of users leave an app page within 3 seconds, meaning they don’t have the time or desire to zoom in on images. In this post, we’ll explore situations where advertising can be most effective and budget-friendly: 1️⃣ Categories and niches with high search traffic. These include apps related to health and fitness, women's health, education (especially language learning), communication and dating, parenting, pregnancy and baby care, photo and video editing, and utility. These niches see thousands of search queries from users eager to download apps. As a result, conversion rates from ads can be high, making ad campaigns profitable. 2️⃣ Apps targeting the Brazilian market and 8 other Latin American countries. In April, Apple officially launched Apple Search Ads in Brazil, Bolivia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, and Paraguay. 🤔 How to spot a bad ASO contractor In this post, we'll discuss how to identify early signs that an ASO contractor may deceive you or lack the necessary qualifications: 🤡 Unrealistic promises. Predicting the outcome of optimization is quite difficult. Besides the specialist’s work, factors like competitor promotion and app store algorithm changes also affect performance. That's why we recommend being cautious of specialists who claim they can push your app to the top for all search queries in just a few weeks. Only after thoroughly analyzing an app in practice can one determine which actions will improve rankings or increase installs. We typically need three iterations to accurately predict what optimization can deliver for any given app. ⛔️ No reviews or case studies, or the ones they provide seem implausible. If an ASO contractor can’t show several client reviews or examples of their work, it’s worth questioning their credentials. Another red flag is unrealistic case studies, such as “brought an app to the top spot from scratch in 2 weeks”.
