Chrome OS Beta Channel Update

The Chrome OS Beta channel has been updated to R12 release 0.12.433.57 including Chrome 12.0.742.68 Beta and several stability and functional improvements over the previous release.

In addition to the new Chrome 12 (see Chrome 12 blogpost), there are several Chrome OS improvements including:

New translation
Fixed crash on Thai pages

No new known issues.

Stable Channel Update

The Stable channel has been updated to 11.0.696.71 for the Macintosh, Windows, Linux and Chrome Frame platforms
Security fixes and rewards: Please see the Chromium security page for more detail. Note that the referenced bugs may be kept private until a majority of our users are up to date with the fix.

[72189] Low CVE-2011-1801: Pop-up blocker bypass. Credit to Chamal De Silva.
[$1000] [82546] High CVE-2011-1804: Stale pointer in floats rendering. Credit to Martin Barbella.
[82873] Critical CVE-2011-1806: Memory corruption in GPU command buffer. Credit to Google Chrome Security Team (Cris Neckar).
[82903] Critical CVE-2011-1807: Out-of-bounds write in blob handling. Credit to Google Chrome Security Team (Inferno) and Kostya Serebryany of the Chromium development community.

The following bugs were fixed:

REGRESSION: selection extended by arrow keys flickers on LinkedIn.com. (Issue 83197).

Have ConnectBackupJob try IPv4 first to hide potential long IPv6 connect timeout (Issue 81686).

Mac plugin crashes are too low in stats (Issue 82172).

Incorrect ACLs on the archived copy of setup.exe (Issue 82424)

The Chrome OS Beta channel has been updated to R12 release 0.12.433.48 including Chrome 12.0.742.60 Beta, new flash player and several stability and functional improvements over the previous release.

In addition to all Chrome 12 new features (see Chrome 12 blogpost), there are several great Chrome OS improvements including:

A fix for [Bug 13269] Chat window refuses to open, even if contacts list will
Flash 10.2.158.22
File Manager context menu
Update default avatars and guest icon

No new known issues.

The Chrome OS Beta channel has been updated to R12 release 0.12.433.38 including Chrome 12 Beta, new trackpad, new flash player and several stability and functional improvements over the previous release.

This release contains the following security fixes:

Disallow root escalation by creating /var/lib/chromeos-aliases.conf and inserting commands. [Credit to Chrome OS Team (Sean Paul)]
Disallow modification of about:flags in Guest mode [Credit to Chrome OS Security Team (Jim Hebert)]
Multiple package updates (openssl, dbugs, pango, sudo, strongswan, acl, libxml2, dhcpd) [Credit to Chrome OS Security Team]

In addition to all Chrome 12 new features (see Chrome 12 blogpost), there are several Chrome OS great improvements including:

Improvements to GSM support
Verizon activation improvements
New Flash player

[Bug 15211] Angry Birds displays black screen in SD and HD version during intro video
[Bug 14592] 3g Activation does not complete first try but succeeds on second after a workaround
[Bug 13269] Chat window refuses to open, even if contacts list will
[Bug 12671] Encountered the recovery screen upon resuming from suspend (hard reboot helps)
[Bug 15085] "He's Dead Jim" message while playing specific video in 720p

The Google Chrome team is happy to announce the release of Chrome 12 to the Beta Channel for all platforms. Chrome 12.0.742.30 includes a number of new features and updates, including:

Hardware accelerated 3D CSS
New Safe Browsing protection against downloading malicious files
Ability to delete Flash cookies from inside Chrome
Launch Apps by name from the Omnibox
Integrated Sync into new settings pages
Improved screen reader support
New warning when hitting Command-Q on Mac
Removal of Google Gears

The Beta and Stable channels have been updated to 11.0.696.65 for the Macintosh, Windows, Linux and Chrome Frame platforms

The following bugs were fixed:

After deleting bookmarks on the Bookmark managers, the bookmark bar doesn't display properly with existing bookmarks. (Issue 80580).
About Google Chrome window shows unknown channel for 11.0.696.57 (Issue 80683).
Chrome/Mac seems to clobber focus when uploading attachments to Gmail with the flash-based uploader (Issue 77172).
Also included is an updated version of Flash Player 10.2.

Chrome Dev Channel Update

The Chrome Dev channel has been updated to 12.0.742.21 for all platforms. This release contains fixes for a number of UI, performance, and stability issues. It also contains an update for Mac [bug 80602] that fixes garbage being displayed when the accelerated compositor was active. This primarily affected 3D CSS transforms and WebGL content.
