Job Description - Assembler 1st shift Position Title: Assembler Job Description This position is responsible for the assembly of transformers Essential Functions: Splice & Crimping of leads and connecting leads to terminal blocks.
Maintain inventory of items needed.
Make sure tanks; parts; and coils are clean.
Measure and cut pressboard as needed, learn to use wood cutting equipment to make maple support blocks for the CT.
Review drawings.
Follow Bill of Materials to make sure transformers are assembled correctly, pull spec.
sheet from job packet to get information on turns.
Make sure you have proper documentation of paperwork.
Read, comprehend, and strictly follow all documented processes and procedures.
Monitor equipment.
Load tank assemblies in/out of oven.
Finished assembly must always be tested prior to moving the unit into the oven.
Use the Infor ERP computer system to log in and track time by item and job making correct moves.
Meet or exceed daily production goals and quality requirements.
Ability to lift products weighing up to 50lbs.
Be willing to be Forklift certified on-site.
Possess the ability to work in a team environment.
Must be available to work overtime.
Able to perform in an un-conditioned working environment.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Must practice good attendance.
Review, challenge and verify all safety features are in place and used on equipment.
Responsible for personal safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
Safety is First priority.
Proper cleaning of equipment and work area each day.
Maintain daily housecleaning procedures and schedules.
Perform additional duties as required by Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills: Dexterity.
Must have a steady hand and good hand-eye coordination, as they must grasp, manipulate, or assemble parts and components that are often very small.
Math skills:Must know basic math (read a tape measure) and must be able to use computers, as the manufacturing process continues to advance technologically.
Mechanical skills.
: Modern production systems require assemblers to be able to use programmable motion-control devices, computers, and robots on the factory floor.
Use of hand and power tools.
Technical skills.
Assembler must be able to understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics for a wide range of products and machines to properly manufacture the final product.
Physical strength.
Must be strong enough to lift heavy components 75+ pounds.
Additional Qualifications: Must have a minimum of 1-year manufacturing experience and proven work stability history.
Must have basic computer knowledge, data entry experience, and working knowledge of various equipment and tools.
Operate material handling equipment: Including potential use of forklifts or other equipment with appropriate training and/or ITEC certification.
