POSITION SUMMARY Coordinates and manage small to medium information technology projects concurrently in the Information Technology Services Department.
This position, with a high degree of latitude, is responsible for identifying appropriate resources to assemble project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, developing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects, and managing projects through successful completion.
This is the second level of the IT Project Manager series.
At this level, individuals may handle three projects simultaneously and will typically handle the more complex projects requiring a high level of project management skills.
This classification is distinguished from the other project manager levels by managing more technically complex projects and the level of direction required to perform job functions.
This position will manage IT Construction projects which consists of implementing IT infrastructure or devices in a new construction or remodel to existing county facilities.
Experience working with internal staff and external vendors including construction, AV, Telecom, Cable/Internet, Security, etc.
Ability to attend in person OAC and other meetings as well as conduct site visits as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Manage end-to-end project execution to ensure adherence to budget, scope, and schedule • Manage risks, issues, action items, dependencies, and changes, escalating when appropriate • Develop overall project implementation approach and work plan in collaboration with team • Report on project progress and team performance against deliverables and milestones • Manage day-to-day operations of projects, including both technical and non-technical aspects • Assemble project teams; manage and monitor resource utilization and allocation • Serve as liaison between team members and management team regarding projects • Establish and execute a project communication plan MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Minimum of four years of progressively responsible IT experience with demonstrated experience in project management Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted: yes LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus, but not required • Certified Scrum Master Certification a plus, but not required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Strong project management and technical skills • Able to manage multiple priorities and resources in a dynamic environment • Experience managing Software Development efforts in an Agile environment.
• Ability to manage diverse project types including software development, infrastructure, security, SaaS implementations, etc.
