Summary Indicor is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor based in Charlotte, NC to join their rapidly growing company.
As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance structures across the organization and its subsidiaries.
Your highly visible role will play a crucial part in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, safeguarding assets, and identifying opportunities for and assisting in implementation of process improvement.
Primary Responsibilities Internal Control System Design and Internal Audit Strategy and Planning: Assist senior management in the design, development and implementation of a comprehensive internal control system and audit strategy, considering the manufacturing industry's specific risks, challenges, and regulatory environment.
Assist in determining the objectives and scope of the assigned audit and preparing audit programs to evaluate control areas.
Execute the annual internal audit plan, including risk-based audits that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
Participate in an annual entity-wide risk assessment which identifies key business risks and the adequacy of the processes and controls to address such risks.
Identify opportunities to strengthen financial controls and improve operational efficiency and productivity.
Support ad hoc management requests and M&A due diligence and integration activities.
Audit Execution and Documentation: Conduct audits of various business functions, processes, and activities to assess the adequacy of internal controls, identify control gaps, and recommend improvements.
Perform detailed testing of financial statements, operational processes, and compliance activities.
Prepare high-quality audit workpapers that document the procedures performed and conclusions reached.
Document audit findings and prepare clear and concise audit reports that highlight risks, control deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Risk Management and Compliance: Assess the effectiveness of the company's risk management processes and systems, ensuring they align with senior management’s strategy and intent and industry standards and best practices.
Evaluate compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Develop and maintain a robust framework for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the organization.
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration: Build strong working relationships with stakeholders that further organizational goals, including executive management, business unit leaders, and external auditors.
Collaborate closely with other leaders to provide guidance on internal control frameworks, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance requirements.
Assist in promoting a culture of risk awareness, ethical behavior, and control consciousness throughout the organization.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
A professional certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) is preferred.
3-5 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably within the manufacturing industry or related sectors.
Public company and/or public accounting experience that maintain multi-national operations along with a strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements and experience in applying them to plan and execute audits.
Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management strategies, and compliance requirements.
Sound understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
Experience working in a complex organization with multiple subsidiaries that operate independently.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify control weaknesses and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to change priorities quickly, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships within the audit team and across the business.
Proficiency in using auditing software and data analysis tools.
