TITLE: BI ETL Developer III
LOCATION: Charlotte, North Carolina
JOB SUMMARY: Provide technical leadership on projects and tasks related to upstream events and changes, data integrity issues, and its resolutions.
Design, develop, and support new and existing business intelligence (BI) solutions.
Transform data into meaningful and accurate information which business can consume.
Partner with Data Quality Manager, Production Operations, and BI functional teams to manage enhancements to BI applications, data defects, and its resolutions.
Work closely with key BI teams to ensure business needs and goals are realized through discovery, analysis, and reporting on Charter’s information assets.
Build, deliver, and provide continuous enhancements for applications using Agile methodologies.
Ensure proper hand-off and coordination between Source Systems, BI vertical teams, Data Quality Management, Production Operations, and other downstream teams.
Collaborate to design and develop solutions to business problems.
Analyze source billing data and the supporting systems that create and utilize this data during business operations.
Manage the prioritization of workload queue including identification of resource constraints.
Communicate defect remediation metrics that quantify progress while highlighting potential areas for improvement.
Gather, document, and communicate any downstream impacts for enhancements, defect remediation, and job scheduling.
Maintain and communicate deployment schedules and establish clear and efficient task scheduling.
Oversee preparation of deployment documentation including configuration items.
Develop data warehouse and Business Intelligence applications including developing data models, data marts, and ETL processes in large-scale enterprise environments primarily using MPP databases such as Teradata or Netezza.
Write SQL codes to analyze various data scenarios, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis.
Utilize subversion of Git/Stash as code repository for ETL change management and versioning.
Develop solutions for data warehousing including architecture, data sourcing, acquisition, integration, transformation, and presentation.
Design and develop SQL queries utilizing Teradata Stored Procedures to load and update data in reporting data marts.
Utilize Unix scripting for data ingestion, data processing, and ETL wrapper.
Perform data integration utilizing ETL methodologies, SQL, and Stored Procedures in large-scale environments.
Utilize Jira backlog management, task assignments, prioritization, and dashboarding/reporting.
Work with Telecom billing data in Sales, Marketing, Call Centers, Customer Operation, and Supply Chain domains.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
7 years of experience: performing data integration utilizing ETL methodologies, SQL, and Stored Procedures in large-scale environments; developing solutions for data warehousing including architecture, data sourcing, acquisition, integration, transformation, and presentation; and designing and developing SQL queries utilizing Teradata Stored Procedures to load and update data in reporting data marts.
4 years of experience utilizing Unix scripting for data ingestion, data processing, and ETL wrapper.
3 years of experience working with telecom billing data in Sales, Marketing, Customer Operations, and Supply Chain domains.
