YOUR ROLE: As a Senior Interior Designer, you will be responsible for managing a variety projects ranging in scope and size with minimal supervision/maximum autonomy; this includes large systems furniture projects and full architectural solutions in coordination with an architect.
You are responsible for the highest level of Interior Design outcomes, completing projects with accuracy and creativity while monitoring project performance within contract hours and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
This position also entails mentoring and leading more junior interior designers and collaborating across internal and external disciplines.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: • Develop innovative design solutions which are conducive to intended purposes and function which is reflective of client goals and within project budget • Lead the direction of the overall project process including development of work plans and proposals.
• Demonstrate advanced consultative skills and consistently enhance credibility with clients by being an insightful problem solver and a key resource for achieving their business objectives.
• Develop pre-design & programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and coordinate project design assignments, as well as develop design documentation.
• Provide mentoring regarding the selection and research of project design materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.
• Apply advanced understanding of codes and construction regulations and respond appropriately to code implications during all phases of project work.
• Incorporate integrated sustainable design solutions into projects.
• Solicit bids and assist Project Manager and client in subcontracting fabrication, installation, and arrangement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
• Prepare design presentation materials and display top level proficiency in leading verbal presentations to clients.
• Review construction documents including drawings, addenda, and bulletins in support of the Senior Project Architect and Project Manager with respect to interior design issues with efficiency and effectiveness.
• Display leadership qualities and competencies.

• Lead proposals and contract negotiations to establish scope of work, schedule, and budget.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS: • Your Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture or equivalent in education and experience required for professional certification.
• Your Licensure: NCIDQ certified interior designer (or commitment to acquire within 24 months of hire date).
IIDA or ASID membership preferred.
LEED certification preferred.
CSI-CDT preferred (or willingness to complete within 12 months of hire date.
) • Your Knowledge and Experience: • Minimum 10 years of post-graduate interior design experience.
• Proven ability to lead multiple and complex projects, as well as designing projects of a routine nature.
• Advanced knowledge of the interior design and documentation process, including a high level of creative talent in conceptual design and rendering skills of either hand sketching or computer modeling, as evidenced through an outstanding portfolio of past work.
• Advanced knowledge of space planning, sustainability and other trends in the design/construction industry.
• Advanced knowledge of furniture, fixture, and equipment, architectural/interior finishes, lighting, signage, art, and color schemes to carryout design intent.
• Advanced ability to produce and develop excellent design concepts and content.
• Advanced experience with quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and ability to assist in conducting research for requirements that may need to be incorporated into technical documents.
• Sound knowledge of sustainability, universal design, and LEED guidelines.
• You demonstrate high level of technical expertise through utilizing up-to-date knowledge of trends, forecasts, issues, and new developments affecting area of expertise.
You may also publish professional papers and/or present at conferences and meetings.
• Consistent background of strong leadership, mentoring, and team collaboration and client leadership skills, as demonstrated through your competencies.
· Your Technical Skills: • Advanced knowledge of SketchUp, Revit/AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign are required.
Experience in producing construction documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook required.
