This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and engaged group of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, within our Technical Solutions Group.
The Robotics/Electrical Engineering Intern will be part of a team responsible for rapid development of defense equipment.
The fast-paced nature of this team exposes team members to a variety of engineering challenges and knowledge-domains.
The Robotics/Electrical Engineering Intern will support the development of electrical and robotics subsystems across several projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform any roles necessary for assisting with the design, development, and testing of electrical and robotic systems.
Design, assemble, and test printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Work with mechanical engineers to design electronics packaging.
Prototype and troubleshoot electrical and mechatronic systems.
Collect and analyze data from electronic subsystems on equipment.
Generate and present technical documentation for internal and external reporting of engineering development.
Evaluate and select electrical components, considering functionality, reliability, cost, and availability.
Demonstrate a desire to integrate and research new technology where applicable.
Be a self-starter, eager to take ownership of assigned project components.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Pursuing bachelor’s degree (four-year college) in electrical engineering, robotics engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or relevant degree.
Essential Skills/Experience: PCB design and assembly; microcontroller programming; strong written and verbal communication; hands-on electrical assembly and troubleshooting; digital communication; battery power management; comfortable with hand tools; Microsoft Office fluency; understanding of technical documents/drawings.
Desirable Skills/Experience: ROS2; Linux; Python; C/C++; CAN Bus; TCP/IP; 3D CAD design; electrical project experience in industry.
