*SUMMARY:*
The Business Analyst will gather essential operational data, interpret, and analyze to support the overall success of the regional profit centers across one or more offices.
This person will develop reports, interrogate data, identify integrity issues, and bring meaningful insight to operational improvements that will enhance the business.
This person will work with regional management, local and corporate support functions and make recommendations that will translate into actionable steps to improve strategic KPI’s.
The Business Analyst must have a strong working knowledge of Pike Engineering work management and accounting processes/systems in order to perform the functions of the role.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*: · Independent expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of more complex problems.
· Identification & Analysis: o Create clear, comprehensive trail of business processes, requirements, and other documentation collected through facilitated stakeholder reviews and input.
o Provide input to user interface, designs, specifications, and options for technical and non-technical solutions based on requirements.
o Create testing plans, test scripts, test data, testing resource needs.
Work with technical team to create testing approach.
o Provide Quality Assurance functional testing and data validation prior to user testing.
(Includes process/documentation reviews for non-technical releases.
) o Create communications and training materials for change management and training.
o Conduct cost/benefit analysis for identified solutions where required.
· Resolution: o Support development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of business solutions using basic business applications such as PowerBI reports and dashboards, PowerApps, and Power Automate workflow functions.
· Support and interact with various team members to aid understanding and articulation of business drivers and performance and to also lead analysis of information in preparation of monthly leadership reports.
· Provide financial feedback/input to appropriate Operations and Management team members that assist in generating successful business results.
· Interrogate financial data within the office, including, but not limited to, tracking of office profitability, project-level work in progress (WIP) & A/R, purchasing card usage and coding, and monthly approval and accrual of subcontractor invoices.
· Assist Operations with ensuring effective financial controls that deliver profitability and expected cash flow on all projects and master service agreements.
· Provide month-end financial reporting to Operations team, including, but not limited to Division and Customer profit/loss Statements, budget to actual reporting, A/R and Aging WIP trends and other financial metrics, as needed.
· Participate in effective project meetings (project kickoff, scope development, status meeting, progress review, etc.
) · Assist Operations in generating thorough estimates and proposals for fixed price, unit and hourly projects and master service agreements.
· Proactively participate in meetings with Operations team members and obtain the necessary technical, financial, and operational inputs for appropriate reporting.
· Other responsibilities as assigned from time to time by management.
*EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:* · Required High School degree or GED · Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred *OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * · Demonstrated proficiency with Power BI, corporate ERP systems, QuickBase and including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Adobe Acrobat * Be held accountable for maintaining all confidences regarding highly sensitive and proprietary information.
