Info

The United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT) is a technology-intensive programme under the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) specialized in the use of Geospatial Information (GIT) and Earth Observation (EO) technologies. UNOSAT responds to a wide range of global challenges. By leveraging the power of technology, innovation, and human talent our work promotes evidence-based decision-making for partners in among other human rights, peace, security, climate, and resilience building. To meet the evolving needs of its partners and users, the interdisciplinary UNOSAT team consists of highly specialised GIS analysts and remote sensing experts, supported by IT personnel and programme management. Our main office is hosted by the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva (CERN), one of the world's largest and most respected centres for scientific research. We further have regional representation in Bangkok, Nairobi and New-York.
