“It was a real pleasure working with James at Rypple. We had the challenge of doing proper user experience work in an agile development environment and James rose to meet it very capably. He has an extremely qualified background on both the academic and enterprise sides of user experience and was quick to apply past experience and lessons learned.”

Increasingly, tablets are becoming single user, personal devices, rather than shared amongst the members of a family. This introduces new design opportunities. Tablet experiences no longer need to be everything for everyone, and designers have increasing freedom to focus on individual needs. Gamers have different needs and expectations of a tablet experience than those who use the devices primarily for email or browsing. The same is true of readers. This talk explores the growing opportunity for personalized, niche interfaces on tablet devices, and how the design team at Kobo integrates the different perspectives and insights on the needs of our customers from across our organization to design device experiences for the passionate reader.
