Learn how we scaled this Shopify client from $15K/m Nov 2023 to $148K in organic search revenue for the past 30 days... A year ago, they did $15K in November, had never crossed $20K in organic, and struggled to scale past $200K in monthly revenue. Fast-forward a year, and they have exceeded $1M in total revenue in the last 30 days. SEO has had a transformative effect on the brand's ability to scale. Here is how we did it: 1. Posted 5 new blog posts monthly (with links to product pages and collections). 2. Built new collections to capture long-tail traffic with optimized content and internal links. 3. Optimized product listings for long-tail searches. 4. Monthly SEO workflows: Track new content and re-optimize for new keywords. Use GSC data to maximize the traffic potential of every important page. 5. We implemented our link-building system within their company. We create manual outreach campaigns where we scrape their keywords and reach out to sites ranking for these keywords to land high-quality links. 6. We answered journalist queries about things they are experts at and landed links from high-authority publications. 7. We found high-authority publications and paid for listings or co-authored articles (advertorial). We then built links to these articles that helped them rank, driving a ton of authority and traffic to the brand. 8. Made sure to resolve conflicts when different pages rank for the same term or react to pages that would not rank. 9. Made sure the site was technically solid. 10. We were consistent and did the right things repeatedly until things started to rank. That's it. SEO is simple, but it is important to do the right things and be consistent.

When I started including user-generated content in brands' emails, their engagement rates shot up. These brands are doing the same: Mejuri: Used real customer photos in product recommendation emails, resulting in a 28% increase in click-through rates. Glossier, Inc.: Featured Instagram posts from customers in their email newsletters, which improved social proof and still drives sales. MVMT : Highlighted fan photos wearing their watches in follow-up emails, strengthening the brand community and boosting repeat purchases. Sharing my first case study with Jason Zigelbaum from Zigpoll, who doubled his MRR since working with GTM Social. Zigpoll is a no-code survey whose main market is Shopify brands, who install the platform as an app from the Shopify App store. Staying top of mind with brands and agencies serving those brands is important to drive referrals and word of mouth. As a solo dev building out Zigpoll, he didn't have enough time for marketing because he was handling all the product development and customer support. He wanted to focus as much time on product dev bc it's his strength and Shopify apps are an *extremely competitive market - but he wanted to start firing his marketing engine as his growth was starting to plateau. I've been working with him to support his LI content, and the most important aspect to growth has been the work we've done on social proof. The first thing I noticed: Zigpoll didn't have any case studies on their site - but they had some of the largest Shopify Plus and ecommerce brands driving thousands of survey submissions every month. Common occurrence for many b2b companies - they don't have the time to sit down with their best customers, learn exactly how they're using the product, and turn that into case studies that their other customers can learn from. We've written 14 case studies since February, with a focusing on covering different verticals (beauty vs. conversion optimisation agency vs. sports) and use cases. Case studies and social proof are a strategic asset: 1) They improve conversion on key landing pages and paid campaigns 2) Can be seeded in product to increase adoption in a self-serve model. So when you learn a brand has a novel set of survey questions / flows -> they can be added to Zigpoll's template library 3) They can be posted on social. It's inherently viral (the customers will like / comment on the piece), and you can write dedicated posts for each section of the content to get continual value. 4) You learn what aspects of your product brands really value, allowing you to validate features and figure out roadmap. In the last 8 months, we’ve sold $16.3M for 3 brands. …using our own cash upfront for the ad spend. Here’s a step-by-step on how we’re doing this (and have been able to generate $16.3M in new revenue): 1/ Partner with affiliate networks. As one of the top paid media affiliate agencies in the country, we get approached a lot to run offers for brands. However, since all the risk is being taken on our end, we have to ask ourselves a few questions like… Are they a veteran in the space? Do they have a good product/brand? Are they willing to pay a feasible CPA? We’re extremely selective with who we work with. At the end of the day, we could get them all the sales in the world, but if it’s not profitable for us, there’s no reason to proceed with it. 2/ Once we establish our agreed upon benchmark, we’re treating the process how we would any client. Aiming to produce 20-40 ads per month. We launch it on Meta. If it works on Meta, we get it on YT, and TikTok. And at this point, once we’re hitting our benchmarks and things are running smoothly on all 3 platforms… 3/ Increase spend. We often don’t even break even in the first month. However, these are longer term relationships. Once we can see what works, then we really ramp up the ad spend. And if we continue to see that we’re hitting our desired CPA’s, we pump more money into it. These offers are great because we basically become like an extension of their growth acquisition team. They’re happy because they’ve set a CPA target that works for their profitability. We’re happy because our ads are performing and making us that commission. That’s precisely when you can unlock massive growth with these affiliate deals, and it’s why we throw just about $3M/month of our own money into ad spend for them. And because we’ve seen our ads perform and know what works… We can be more risk adverse and scale almost as if we own the business ourselves. So don’t try this at home, unless you have undeniable faith that your ads can perform.

Amazon spends $45 Million a month in Google Ads but laundromat owners tell me they don't work... 🤣 Here's why you may be right that they won't work for you... 👇👇 1.) You have a poor landing page! Customers can click on GA all day long and if they land on a terrible page, they'll never convert. 🤷‍♂️ 2.) Your CTA or offer stinks. 🦨 When a customer chooses to use you for the first time, they're taking a chance. Give them an incentive to "take a chance" then work hard to EARN their trust. 3.) You're impatient! Google Ads have worked well for us for YEARS NOW but you must be patient. Running GA for a few months, then exclaiming they "don't work" screams to me that you have no idea what is happening. 😮 4.) Running paid ads without retargeting is not cost effective long term. Run Google Ads, then retarget them on social media if they don't convert at first. Then measure total conversions, not just round one. 🤔 5.) You MUST have a great team, and service that is very consistent because the value is in the lifetime value of the customer. If you convert them, but can't keep them, you're destined for failure. This is Harley Finkelstein. He's the president of Shopify, the platform I've admired and used for over a decade. In this video, Harley is proudly talking about the Q3 results and how Shopify is growing, has had a 20% increase in quarter over quarter for the past 5 quarters... And then I stopped listening. Sure, I'm happy for them and it's a great platform, but they're not listening to their merchants. I say this because it's almost unanimous among merchants that their customer support has declined for the last 2 years. You used to be able to hop on a chat with a "guru" (yes, that's what their CSRs were called back in the day) and they actually enoyed helping you figure out an issue. Now, you have to jump through hoops, bypass an AI chat-bot that doesn't have all the answers to get a CSR in the chat that barely knows what e-commerce is. Shopify, much like Google, has lost track of the reason people fell in love with their brand. They're all for profits now. They used to care about their users. Don't get me wrong, the platform is absolutely amazing, rock solid and user friendly, no doubt about that. I hope I get reminders from friends and loyal clients about why I'm in business: I care about people and their dreams of building a healthy business. Yes, I need to put food on the table, so I can't do it for free, but people and results first. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.

These were the initial metrics of the Law Group based in Canada. And they tells us the issues they are facing with current campaigns. when we started working with them: Ad Spend - CA$1,147.94 CTR - 5.76% Clicks - 421 CPC - CA$2.73 Conversion - 56.00 Cost per Conversion - CA$20.50 Conversion Rate - 13.30% The #1 problem client tell us that they getting Good numbers of calls. But 70% of Calls are irrelevant. So, we check their campaign and they have added many broad term of the service they provide. 30% of budget is spending on wrong keywords & Audience. Many DTC brands fail at email marketing before ever sending their first email. Here’s why 👇 Most brands fail because they don’t understand this simple fact: The offer displayed on your popup isn’t just for building your email list. It's for filtering out unqualified prospects. How? Certain offers attract freeloaders, while others attract people with buying intent. Think about it – if your popup offer is a discount for joining your email list, only prospects with buying intent will find value in that offer. That means you’ll fill your email list with subscribers willing to purchase your products under the right circumstances. On the other hand, if your popup offer involves a raffle or a free lead magnet, you’re attracting freebie seekers who don’t necessarily want to purchase. This will have a ripple effect across all your email marketing metrics. Particularly click rates and sales conversion rates. You’re dooming your chances of success before your welcome flow even lands in their inbox. Don’t fall for the dopamine trap of mindlessly accumulating subscribers to your email list in exchange for free stuff.
