Are you interested in side hustles? One side hustle many people aren't aware of is: Investing in Domain Names/Online Properties. About 5 or so years ago I sold one of my domains for around $18,000 Canadian and another domain for around $5,000. I'll share a few tips for this kind of investing. Choose domain names that you would genuinely consider using for your own business. This way, if someone approaches you about purchasing the domain, you can honestly say you're not eager to sell because you plan to develop it into a business. Then, you can name your price, making it clear that you'd only part with the domain for a specific amount. The possible buyer will come back with a lower number than that, and then you can tell them you could sell it for a number closer to their number, and do this negotiating until you the seller, and the buyer are both ok with the number you chose. I use GoDaddy because I like it and I'm used to it. How do you choose domain names? There are a few ways, such as catchy song titles and/or music lyrics. I also think of popular sayings such as "Catch two birds with one Stone" and reword it in a shorter domain name like twostonedbirds.com or twostonedbirds.io, etc. That could be a great business for pot products…I will be implementing that into our feature film that's in development, POTHOLES. :) Every so often, I'll be struck by inspiration from either a song on the radio in the car or just out of the blue with catchy domain names… if this happens to you as well… make sure to write them down or save them as a note on your computer or cell phone. For the most part, most of these domains, I think the best ones end with .io, or .com… if it's an App, .app is good… if you think of a music title or lyric that has the word "me" in it like: dontforgetabout.me That's a cool domain name and business name… I saw that this domain name is selling for C$2,741.22 I don't usually buy higher-priced domain names like that because I don't usually have that amount. I usually find different extensions that cost less. For the most part, you can pay around $20 to $50 or so per year, which isn't that much. I hope you found this to be helpful advice. :D Good luck with your investments in online properties/domain names. Comment below if you have more advice on this matter and/or if you have questions. I'm no expert on this, but I'm learning and like to share what I'm learning.

How do you change Shopify's checkout to increase purchases? 🛍 If you're using Shopify, you know the checkout is pretty standard - limited flexibility - change a logo here, tweak colour swatches there. But since this page is one of the most impactful pages on your store, you have to push within it's boundaries by implementing these changes. 1. Simplify checkout steps to reduce friction and boost conversions. 2. Offer diverse payment options to cater to a wider audience. 3. Use free shipping incentives to increase order values. 4. Implement Google Autocomplete for faster and error-free entries. 5. Enable 1-click checkout for seamless repeat purchases. 6. Display security badges for customer trust. How are you guys improving your checkout?

Here is why this organic Influencer collaboration is performing so well: #1 - I call out the target audience in the first 3 seconds by using both verbal and visual hooks. Also, while saying "Toronto" I added the Canadian flag 🇨🇦 and filmed it in front of the CN Tower. #2 - It is super fast-paced which makes it so easy to listen to the whole "story" #3 - Includes lots of B-rolls of me participating in the event. This is where my experience as a UGC Creator shines. As I always say ✨don't tell, show instead✨ If my "relatable single girl content" resonates with your brand, let's get in touch! 💌[email protected] #ugc #ugccreator #creativestrategist #influencergeneratedcontent #influencer #microinfluencer #digitalmarketer #tiktokinfluencer

Let's talk about Shopify's Average Order Value. You know how we all rely on it? Well, it doesn't tell the whole story. So I made this little tool to track order values in different price buckets. Introducing ShopInsight V0.3 Here's why I think it's cool: - You can see which price ranges are driving your sales - It shows trends you might miss just by looking at the average - Makes it easier to figure out where to focus your efforts - Helps you design offers based on where you're getting the most sales. We've been using it for a while now, and it's pretty eye-opening. Anyway, some of you might find this useful too. If you want to try it out, comment "bucket" below and I'll send you the code. It's nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.

BFCM (Black Friday Cyber Monday), the week of scaled ad spends and shopify checkout notifications 🛍️💰 Always a fun week, but what happens after the promos end? Here's a few tips to make sure your Facebook Ad account is setup for the post BFCM hangover and success through EOY ⬇️ 1. Pull back spend - You're going to get post sale attribution coming in on your ads which may make performance look better than it is for a few days following your sale. Scaling down here temporarily will give the account a chance to get back to norms as shoppers will also be recovering from this weekend (lol). 2. Shift into gifting - If you haven't already, December is the time to push gifting messaging, bundle incentives, e-gifts and more. Get your customers into the mindset of shopping for others (or themselves) but use gifting as the angle. 3. Consider EOY incentives - If you want one final push before the new year, you can run an EOY promo to try and clear inventory. You can get creative with this to tie gifting into it, run buy x get y offers and e-gifts for last minute shoppers. These are a few but it's not a one size fits all approach. If you want some help crafting your post BFCM strategies to close the year strong, DM me "BFCM" or click "book an appointment" in my bio to get some free insights to set you up for success through EOY and beyond. 🤝

Shopify's "Not Boring" setting really is... something else. Notice that little box on the right of my screen? That's a summary of an update from Shopify's blog, "The Boring Edition" Shopify actually has a toggle where you can switch between: "Boring" or "Not Boring" Naturally, I had to try "Not Boring." While on the site in Not Boring mode, you can even mute and unmute the "tv," which is actually speaking aloud each article (one per channel 😂) about Shopify's latest releases and updates. So, as my gift to you, you've now satisfied your quota of "learning 1 new thing each day"

Do you have a metric ton of blogs on your shopify site… that are not doing anything for you? Here’s how we fixed that for one of our clients: Started with 200 existing blog posts - written by VAs and AI. If I was a high school english teacher, I’d give them a respectable B, B-. Not terrible, but not performing. Instead of creating new content, we: \- Added more depth to key sections \- Restructured the flow \- Refined intro paragraphs \- Built strategic internal links Focused on maximizing existing content rather than creating new posts. And any blog that wasn’t geared towards high intent buyers that would funnel to collection pages? We cut those. They were dead weight. Every optimization supported our collection pages. That's where the actual revenue comes from. No new content needed. Just smarter optimization of what already existed.

Your Shopify site needs more than curb appeal. Like a mullet, it needs a "party in the back-end." 👇 Let me explain: Shopify says they're "2.4x faster" than other platforms. But is it enough for advanced retailers? What happens when you include: → Advanced features most large retailers need → Third-party scripts Harry Finkelstein is right when he said: "That's a BIG deal when speed = sales." Milliseconds do matter. But for 8-figure+ DTC shops, Shopify's basics aren't enough. Even some of Shopify's native features hurt speed. 1. Consent tracking 2. Dynamic checkout carts These are two of the top reasons for low INP scores. That's where Nostra comes in. We love Shopify. It's why we build exclusively for it. But our focus? Helping larger brands level up their site speed. So you don't have to touch code. Or sacrifice your UX. P.S. This brand will save $12,420 in their Shopify software fees this year. All I did was clean their list and downgrade Klaviyo's plan. The bad thing about Klaviyo is that they charge you based on your profiles and not account usage. Here's how to change it and save thousands on your Klaviyo bill: 1. Create an unengaged segment. 2. Set up Sunset Unengaged flow (trigger will be unengaged segment). 3. Create your suppression list. 4. Suppress these unengaged people. 5. Check your average monthly email usage and select a plan that fits it. There is no need to keep 50 or 100k unengaged people on your list if you're not sending to them anyway. Bonus tip: Re-upload these suppressed profiles during BFCM or holidays and try to re-engage them once again. This way you save on your bill but don't miss out on the revenue.

Today is the day. Shopify's native product reviews app goes bye bye. Luckily, there is a no-brainer solution. Omnisend offers product reviews inside of the platform, giving you a one stop shop for reviews, email, SMS, web push, and much, much, much more. Give it a look 👉 https://lnkd.in/ejqRiHEH #EmailMarketing #Reviews #Ecommerce #ProductReviews #Shopify #EmailGeeks

Struggling to Scale? It’s All About CAC to LTV Let me ask you this: Do you actually know your LTV (Lifetime Value)? Most Shopify founders I talk to don’t. They’re scaling blindly, focusing on ROAS or revenue, while CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost) creeps up. But here’s the thing—without knowing your LTV, you’ll never know how much you can actually afford to acquire a customer and scale profitably. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how to calculate your LTV using Shopify and cohort analysis: 1️⃣ Start With Shopify’s Sales Reports Go to Analytics > Reports > Customers Over Time in your Shopify admin dashboard. Use this report to find: Average Order Value (AOV): Calculate this by dividing total revenue by the total number of orders. Purchase Frequency (F): Find how often your customers return to buy within a specific time period. Formula: AOV = Total Revenue / Number of Orders F = Total Orders / Total Unique Customers 2️⃣ Track Repeat Purchase Rates Over Time Run a cohort analysis to see how many first-time customers return and how much they spend. Look at: Month 1, Month 3, Month 6 customer retention rates. Spend patterns of customers acquired in specific months. 3️⃣ Calculate Customer Lifetime Value (LTV) Using your AOV and frequency data, apply the formula: LTV = AOV x Frequency x Customer Lifespan If you don’t know the customer lifespan, start with 12–24 months as an estimate for most eCom businesses. Why This Matters Without knowing your CLTV, you’re throwing darts blindfolded when setting budgets and scaling ads. This number directly informs how much you can spend to acquire a customer (CAC) while staying profitable. Want a walkthrough? Comment "LTV" and I’ll send you a step-by-step video guide to crush your numbers.

Every month I audit dozens of Meta ad accounts and pixels for Shopify businesses. I see the same problems over and over. Here's the top 4 issues and how to fix them. ____________________ 🚩 1️⃣ No Consolidation If your business chronically gets fewer than 50 conversions per ad set per week, consolidation is a must. With too little volume, your campaigns never exit the Learning Phase and you end up with Meta "light". To fix this: ▶️ Consider one single ASC campaign with one ad set that explores a series of different creative concepts. ▶️ Launch other campaigns when you've got one campaign out of learnings and operating with acceptable cost-per efficiency. ______________________ 🚩 2️⃣ Using Shopify CAPI You need to have a solid data connection in order to use Meta ads with success. Shopify's free CAPI connection is a basic relay that doesn't work well for very many brands. To fix this: ▶️ Consider upgrading to an advanced data connection (like Popsixle) ▶️ Benefit from order-source routing, 100% event coverage, and custom logic with custom events ______________________ 🚩 3️⃣ Single Size Creative Sure it's fast and easy to just use square images or one size of video assets, but this is holing back your ad performance. Take the time to upload different crops and asset sizes to ensure every ad placement is optimal. To fix this: ▶️ Save a square, vertical, and horizontal version of all creative with thoughtful cropping of each. ▶️ Leverage ASC and other ad types where you can specify the version of creative for each type of placement (square, vert, horz) _______________________ 🚩 4️⃣ Only One Text Option Meta makes it easy to test a wide range of creatives and benefit from when top performers emerging. Not only does this lead to better ad performance, but it offers insights on what is working and why. To fix this: ▶️ Always explore multiple versions of your creative ad copy, headline, and text call-to-action. (Up to 5 versions per parameter) ▶️ Use ad reporting splits to see which versions are performing and learn from what is working ____________________ SUMMARY There are a lot of best practices that can ad up to better ad performance. Remember that campaign structure is one of the four pillars of excellence and often leads to 10-15% better ad performance. Drop a comment or DM if you need help with campaign structure and might benefit from a Meta ad account audit.
