At Microsoft Canada, we are committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen cybersecurity and build trust in technology.  Ontario's Bill 194, Strengthening Cyber Security and Building Trust in the Public Sector Act, currently before the Standing Committee on Justice Policy, represents a significant step forward in enhancing digital security and fostering trust in digital services delivered by government. Bill 194 is poised to play a crucial role in both safeguarding the data and privacy of Ontarians, as well as strengthening cybersecurity and driving trustworthy and responsible AI in Ontario.    Ensuring that future regulations are grounded in a risk-based approach will focus resources and measures where the risk is highest. Additionally, flexible and principles-based regulations will be key to ensuring robust security standards in an evolving digital landscape as well as fostering innovation. Focusing on future regulations that are interoperable will also enhance the overall effectiveness of cybersecurity and responsible AI efforts across borders. I’m heartened by the work of the Government of Ontario and the leadership of Minister Todd McCarthy championing this important piece of legislation and commend them on their efforts to shape Ontario’s digital future by strengthening cybersecurity and building trust in the public sector.

We are hiring a Senior Director, National & Provincial Health Network Strategy At Oracle Health, we believe a more connected and collaborative Canadian healthcare system is a healthier system. We work with provincial and federal governments, health care organizations, clinicians, and patients to make health care more accessible, equitable and achievable. We believe everyone should be able to access their personal health information, book appointments, get prescriptions, view lab test results and access other health services via their preferred method of interaction. We work tirelessly to transform the health system and deliver a more connected ecosystem by leveraging innovative technology. Improving Canadian health care in these areas requires new efforts to connect systems in order to achieve interoperability across various stakeholder groups. Connected care means a healthier Canada, and Oracle Health is committed to advancing interoperability across our hospitals, health systems, provinces and nation by leveraging our enterprise solutions and open ecosystem of products and services. Harnessing data sharing will result in “connected care” and a modern health system for all Canadians. In June 2024, the Canadian Health Minister introduced Bill C72, coined “Connected Care for Canadians Act” which sets out Canada’s plan to enable a more connected healthcare system, in which health information can be securely accessed by patients and shared between providers, when needed. It seeks to establish a framework that enables the safe and secure exchange of health data, giving patients better access to, and more control over, their personal health information. Our mission is aligned with this announcement - and we are looking for an experienced leader to help us develop, articulate and deliver on our vision for an Oracle Health Canadian health network & interoperability strategy. In collaboration with, and as a key member of a highly-matrixed team, this role would align with objectives listed in the Canada Health Infoway shared pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap from an Oracle Health perspective. This role will work closely and collaboratively with the go-to-market team (Sr. Director Sales Canada, VP Health Network Sales, Lead Strategic Development Executive, Health Network) as well as the Oracle Health interoperability & HDI product teams. The successful candidate will formally develop the Oracle Health Canada Go-to-Market-Strategy for connected care and help shape and influence future interoperability opportunities across the Canadian market.
