We are living in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world which places taxing demands on leaders. Too often this complexity causes leaders to work harder and longer, creating an unsustainable schedule that leads to burnout. This situation may be pointing to a skill gap in leadership and there’s no shame in pointing this out. Dealing with the external environment is no small task. Equipping leaders to see where their own approach may be limiting their effectiveness helps to close the gap. So does building upon their skills to engage their team because they can’t go it alone. Identifying a gap in leadership effectiveness is not a failure. Instead, it’s the first step in a new direction that gives leaders what they need. #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipcircle #coaching
