14-3-3η Promotes Invadosome Formation via the FOXO3–Snail Axis in Rheumatoid Arthritis Fibroblast-like Synoviocytes
International Journal of Molecular Sciences
14-3-3η–FOXO3–Snail axis promotes the aggressive destructive phenotype in RA further underscoring the importance of 14-3-3η in the joint damage process.

14-3-3η Protein in serum and synovial fluid correlates with radiographic damage and progression in a longitudinal evaluation of patients with established rheumatoid arthritis
Modern Rheumatology
14-3-3η levels are significantly higher in RA and levels of the marker correlate with radiographic damage.

A prospective cohort study of 14-3-3η in ACPA and/or RF-positive patients with arthralgia
Arthritis Research and Therapy
14-3-3η was detectable prior to the onset of arthritis and was associated with arthritis development in arthralgia subjects pre-selected for positivity of RF or ACPA. Its power to predict onset of arthritis independent of ACPA and RF requires a new study in which patients are not pre-selected based on ACPA and/or RF seropositivity.

Serum levels of 14-3-3η protein supplement C-reactive protein and rheumatoid arthritis-associated antibodies to predict clinical and radiographic outcomes in a prospective cohort of patients with recent-onset inflammatory polyarthritis
Arthritis Research Therapy
Levels of 14-3-3η protein ≥0.50 ng/ml predict poorer clinical and radiographic outcomes in EPA, both at baseline and after initiation of treatment, even in SDAI remitters. 14-3-3η, CRP, age and Abs represent independent predictors of subsequent joint damage.

14-3-3η Autoantibodies: Diagnostic Use in Early Rheumatoid Arthritis
The Journal of Rheumatology
14-3-3η autoantibodies are specific for RA. The marker alone and in combination with the 14-3-3η protein, RF, and/or ACPA identified most patients with early RA. This marker has the potential to close the seronegative gap and to stratify patients into different risk categories for disease progression.

Serum 14-3-3η is a novel marker that complements current serological measurements to enhance detection of patients with rheumatoid arthritis
The Journal of Rheumatology
Serum 14-3-3η is a novel RA mechanistic marker that is highly specific that offers strong diagnostic value. Its presence in the serum and levels are associated with worse disease. The marker complements current acute phase reactants and serological measures, enabling a more accurate diagnosis of RA and better prognostication.

Dysregulation of integrin-linked kinase (ILK) signaling in colonic polyposis
Oncogene
The protein kinase, ILK is upregulated in colonic polyps from patients diagnosed with familial adenomatous polyposis. Increased activity of ILK may drive disease and NSAIDs inhibit ILK's kinase activity.

14-3-3 antagonists for the prevention and treatment of arthritis
Issued WO2009067820A1
A method for treating arthritis, comprising administering to a patient a therapeutically effective amount of a 14-3-3 antagonist, wherein said 14-3-3 antagonist is capable of specif icaliy binding to an extracetlularly localized 14-3-3 protein, wherein said 14-3-3 protein is selected from γ and η isoforms.
