Something really important to consider is that if we want people to collaborate, we must make it safe for them to make mistakes. Organizations that say, they embrace mistakes while punishing failure will never create an environment where highly creative people can collaborate. Give your people the space to be all of who they are, and they will very pleasantly surprise you!

One thing we’ve found very helpful when it comes to getting people to collaborate is by “ending silo wars”. If we want people to #collaborate, we have to make it so that those they are collaborating with are not seen as either competition or the enemy. Old-School leadership played off silos against each other. In today’s workplace, this kind of leadership will completely stifle creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Breakdown the silos and you’ll get what you need!

The piece is entitled: “One Red Thread.” The description of the piece goes on to say that this rug represents each of our lives. It is “the unique combination of the colored threads that together create the tapestry of our lives. The description goes on to say that a single Red Thread is intricately woven throughout the rug. This thread may not be apparent, but it is the very essence of what binds the entire piece together. The description challenges you to look for the One Red Thread in your own tapestry. -
