❌ 🎬 MYTH: "Creating videos is time-consuming and expensive for small businesses!" 👉🏼 No, it isn't. I'm a freelancer and have been creating videos for 10 years. I started out with very little equipment: just a small Lavalier lapel mic for under $10 and natural daylight for lighting ☀️. ✅ But what I did invest in was some good video editing software. So I bought Camtasia by TechSmith, which was my first big 'splurge' and business investment. Camtasia allows me to create videos, record my screen (and myself if needed), edit those videos and add truly professional finishing touches. Last week I wrote a post about not simply accepting the first thing that comes your way. This is about DISCERNMENT and making sure it’s what YOU really want. This message seemed to resonate with a lot of the women in my network, so I’ve been inspired to create some ‘how-to’s’ to help you lean into what you want (and deserve). How to DISCERN if something is right for you (btw I love this word – it means to recognize small details, accurately tell the difference between similar things, and make intelligent judgements by using such observations): 1️⃣ Your intuition will tell you right away; the challenge is being able to hear it through all the external clutter and loudmouthed doubt. Observe how your body feels when you think about what you’re being offered. Does it feel peaceful or anxious? You’ll need to get still and quiet to ascertain this. If this is challenging, take a day or two before you make a decision and in that time, take a few minutes each day to sit still and ask yourself whether this is right for you. 2️⃣ Observe whether you’re reacting from fear. Again, this will take some inner reflection. Are you saying yes because you’re worried it will be taken away from you, that this is your only chance, or that you better take what you can get? If you answer 'yes' to these questions it likely means that fear is in control. 3️⃣ Honestly assess whether this is what YOU want or if it’s something you think you ‘should’ want. Or is it something others tell you that you need/want? Reflect on whether it aligns to your core values or links to your overall life goals. *** Taking time to go inwards and giving yourself the gift of reflection, will open up the space to confidently make the decision that is best for you (which is what discernment is all about). You deserve to be discerning about your life. 💛 ____________ These are the types of conversations I have with my clients on a daily basis – helping them discern between intuition and external noise, responding instead of reacting, and taking control of what is most important to them. Something unexpected happened when we spent time with people on the streets experiencing homelessness.   🙏🏽We realized that the greatest poverty in life is not financial poverty - it is the poverty of loneliness.   1 in 3 people currently experience extreme loneliness. It's safe to say we've all experienced it at some point in our lives.   In a society that can be highly stratified, let's choose today to extend our reach not only to the fringes of society, but to those around us.   We are all called to deeply care, and tend to the needs of people around us at work, school, etc.   Imagine a world where people are fully alive, deeply caring for one another, and relentlessly willing the good of the other: - Less crime - Healthier populations - Less mental illness - A stronger economy   Come spend time with Greater Love as we fight loneliness. Join an amazing community that will welcome you, as a volunteer, with open arms   ❓What have you found works well in building a culture of connection with the people around you?

I’m currently guiding several Indigenous job readiness program participants through a self-management container focused on identifying problems as the key to solving them. The truth is, the only real problem we have is thinking we shouldn’t have any. When we correctly identify our challenges, solutions naturally emerge, and these problems have the potential to elevate our lives. I recently shared with my clients that my purpose here is to normalize abundance within our communities. This past Saturday, the kids and I had an exciting and productive day at the shop. I guided them through building their own bookcases, which was a fantastic hands-on experience that taught them the valuable skill of following instructions. They also helped measure and cut the worktop, and together we built their desk. It was a great opportunity for them to learn practical skills and gain confidence in their abilities. Last Monday, we embarked on a new journey by starting to homeschool our son. He has a clear vision for his future, and we believe that the traditional school environment, with its pressures and rigid structure, isn't the best fit for him. Homeschooling offers a more personalized and flexible approach to education, allowing us to tailor the learning experience to his unique needs and interests. Some of the benefits of homeschooling include: • The ability to focus on subjects that truly interest him. • A more relaxed and stress-free learning environment. • The opportunity to develop at his own pace. • Incorporate real-world experiences, like our project at the shop, to make learning more engaging and relevant. ✨ What do you do to “finish strong” with your clients? Many of my coaching clients and programs pause or end at this time of year, so I’ve been reflecting on what “finishing strong” looks like. Endings, even just chapters in the broader journey, deserve to be marked. 📋 This week, I wrapped up with a 1:1 coaching client. As always, I sent a reflection form before our meeting with questions like: How have you grown since we began? How do you feel your growth has benefited you? Which goals or topics were most useful for your development? What do you want to continue working on? 🌟 My client came prepared and eager to share their reflections, plans, and hopes for ongoing growth. It was such a joy to participate and witness this strong finish. 👥 Tomorrow, I'll be helping a team finish strong. With more participants come more layers and complexities, but meaningful closure is equally important. We'll celebrate, consolidate learnings, and challenge ourselves to identify the practices that will sustain and continue building the skills we’ve developed. 🎥 Nick Vujicic's powerful message on finishing strong is a favourite of mine, and I sometimes share his video with my clients. Late last night, the Kikki K stickers came out as I settled in to one of my favourite activities of the year: ANNUAL PLANNING! Here’s my process: I know I always ask you what your weekly goals are, but they roll up to monthly goals and yearly goals. And for me that starts with my Launch Calendar. I start to feel the energy to plan the coming year super early around October. So maybe I can’t be too hard on the supermarkets selling Christmas treats… when you feel the instinctive pull you just gotta flow with it! But you know what? Before any launches, marketing activities and promotional slots go down I always put up icon stickers in this order: ⚫️ New moons 🟡 Full moons 🔵 Leading Successful Change monthly coaching calls for my students These things are immovable and all-powerful, so they are laid down first. Next comes… 🔳 Holidays Yep - before any work comes play. I mark out my rest and breaks so I know I’ll prioritise them. I’m also planning a Europe trip mid-year but not sure on dates so I’ll put that in once flights are booked. 🎂🥂👗 Birthdays, anniversaries and special events go next. 🎉 👩🏾‍💻 And only then do I put in my launches - my masterclasses, webinars, workshops, bootcamps, and retreats. 👩🏾‍🎤 As I book on to speak at conferences or other people’s events or for consulting clients, they start going on to the calendar, too. And soon my year is filled with all the buzz of the activities I love. 🥰 With so much balance, it feels like a wave in flow. 🌊 Lata xx
