Open Letter to the Job Market Navigating the job market in Canada as a data professional is proving to be a challenging journey. Despite being equipped with skills in **Excel**, **Power BI**, **Tableau**, **R**, **Databricks**, **Salesforce**, and **Problem Solving**, along with proficiency in **SQL**, and **Data Visualization**, the struggle to secure even an interview is real and disheartening. It's perplexing to see the number of job postings that turn out to be less than genuine. The silence that follows after sending out resumes is deafening. It's even more disconcerting to witness individuals with embellished resumes landing jobs in reputable companies, earning substantial salaries, and then turning to professionals like us to learn the very skills they claimed to possess. Why is it that those of us who have invested time and effort into genuinely acquiring and honing these skills are left waiting for that elusive interview call? The goal? To identify which product subcategories are driving profits and which are causing losses. Key Activities: Data Preparation: Adjusted column widths and formatted headers for clarity. Segmented data by customer type and focused on the Corporate segment for detailed analysis. Reporting and Formatting: Applied sorting and conditional formatting to highlight key metrics. Rounded off values and formatted dates for better readability. High-Profit and Loss-Making Categories: Used Pivot Tables to identify top 3 profitable subcategories in each region. Analyzed least profitable subcategories to consider strategic changes. Outcomes: Gained actionable insights to drive strategic decisions. Identified areas for potential growth and improvement. Overall, there were three rounds:- ➡️ 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟭: 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 - General introduction and previous experiences. - Reason for job change and last working day - How many projects handled - Rate yourself on a scale of 10 (Power BI & SQL) - How good you are with DAX ➡️ 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟮: 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 (𝗜) - Questions were based on my resume and portfolio projects. - 𝗦𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼 : 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿. (Sample Store Dataset-7 CSV Files) - 𝗤𝟭 :- Connect the data source folder directly to the Power BI model and perform the required transformation. - 𝗤𝟮 :- Create a measure of Total Sales and display it over time.  - 𝗤𝟯 :- In the same visual, show the selected year sales as well as last year sales. 🚀 Wrapped up an exciting freelance project focused on sentiment analysis of drug-related tweets! 🧠 We scraped data directly from Twitter and analyzed the sentiments to classify tweets as forward vs opinion then neutral, positive, or negative. It was thrilling to explore this in Power BI, where we utilized the word cloud visual for the first time—a fantastic tool available from the store!
