  • Here are some recent Zeidler milestones from 2010-2020!   Images 2-3: The Bow is a 58-storey iconic office tower that redefined Calgary’s skyline. Designed to maximize energy efficiency and provide an inspiring workplace, the tower's crescent-shaped structure is oriented towards the sun, optimizing natural light and panoramic views of the Bow River and Rocky Mountains. The sky gardens strategically positioned within the tower provide collaborative spaces while enhancing indoor air quality and user well-being. The expansive atrium links the tower’s amenities and connects with Calgary’s Plus 15 pedestrian network, creating a seamless integration with the surrounding urban fabric.   Images 4-5: The St. Regis Hotel in downtown Toronto embodies sophistication and luxury in a 65-storey mixed-use tower. Combining hotel and residential spaces, the building features a distinctive stepped design that captures stunning views of Toronto’s skyline. High-end amenities include a luxury spa, fine dining establishments, and a rooftop lounge offering an unparalleled experience for visitors and residents. The design seamlessly blends contemporary elegance with timeless details, ensuring a memorable guest experience in the heart of the city.   Image 6: The Toronto Metropolitan University Sheldon & Tracy Levy Student Learning Centre is an eight-storey educational hub that reimagines the traditional library experience. With a striking façade of undulating glass, the building welcomes students and the public alike into dynamic, open-concept learning spaces. The design incorporates collaborative zones, study nooks, and a rooftop terrace, promoting flexibility and creativity. The transparent structure emphasizes connectivity and openness, symbolizing the university’s progressive approach to education.   Image 7: Cadillac Fairview Calgary City Centre is a mixed-use development that includes a 36-storey office tower and vibrant public spaces. The design integrates high-performance systems for energy efficiency and sustainability, setting new standards for downtown developments. The podium offers retail, dining, and fitness amenities, while the landscaped plaza creates a welcoming environment for the community. The project’s seamless connectivity to Calgary’s Plus 15 network enhances accessibility and enriches the urban experience.   #wearezeidler #zeidler70

  • Every holiday season, our Calgary studio comes together to sprinkle a little extra magic across our community by supporting The Magic of Christmas charity (https://lnkd.in/gX3Hzk4w). This cherished tradition lets us roll up our sleeves, volunteer our time, and share warmth, joy and holiday cheer with families in need. Every Christmas Eve, The Magic of Christmas loads up Calgary Transit buses, magically transformed into “reindeer buses,” with hundreds of gifts and volunteers dressed as Santa and his elves. Then, they do what they do best—deliver Christmas spirit into the homes and hearts of those who need it most. Being part of a community that uplifts and cares for one another is truly inspiring, and we are proud to play a small role in spreading that kindness. A big thank you to The Magic of Christmas and everyone involved in making Calgary shine a little brighter during the holidays. #wearezeidler #zeidler70 #givingback

  • The areas linking classrooms often hold untapped potential for meaningful learning experiences. Thoughtful design also prioritizes the connective spaces that link them. Hallways, lounges, and stairwells can become vibrant extensions of the learning environment, sparking curiosity, and encouraging students to engage beyond the confines of formal instruction. #wearezeidler #zeidler70 #academic 1: Toronto Metropolitan University Sheldon & Tracy Levy Student Learning Centre 2: Mohawk College Cummings Library and Collaboratory 3: University of Victoria ACET Research Headquarters 4: Toronto Metropolitan University School of Performance

  • Some great Zeidler projects kicked off the 21st century.   Images 2-3: Canada Place at Canary Wharf in London, UK is a five-storey retail mixed-use building that houses a variety of amenities and connections supporting health and well-being, such as a grocery store, a fitness centre and a fine dining restaurant. The below-grade space allows for a connection beneath the park to the tower and beyond to the Canary Wharf tube station on the Jubilee Line. The above-grade four-storey atrium space extends to the concourse level and links the mall with the upper levels. A colourful rooftop garden appears as an extension to the adjacent park.   Two facades are designed as undulating glass sculptures that integrate theatrical lighting for nighttime display to emphasize the idea of framing the public space.   Image 4: Torre Mayor is a 55-storey office tower that was previously the tallest tower in Mexico City, as well as the tallest tower in Central and South America. The cutback of the tower on the lower floors creates an impressive entrance within a plaza. The podium is designed to resemble lions’ paws reaching out and opening the plaza towards Paseo de la Reforma.   Images 5-7: The Niagara Fallsview Casino and Resort is a comprehensive entertainment complex situated in the heart of the tourist district of Niagara Falls. Overlooking the Horseshoe Falls, the development shaped a new generation of entertainment facilities and invigorated the Niagara region economy. The casino and resort spans a total of 1.23 million sq.ft. with retail restaurants, a 368-room 4-star hotel, conference facilities and a 1,500-seat multipurpose theatre.   Images 8-9: The Canadian Diplomatic Complex in Seoul was designed with the intent to create a dialogue between Korean and Canadian cultures around a shared reverence for nature. Materials harmonize with the historic Jeong-dong district’s stone, brick and wood in grey to red hues. Technical challenges, including protection of the ancient tree and maintaining high security requirements, are hidden and what remains is an impression of a serene oasis within the walled garden, providing a sense of welcome to its visitors.   #wearezeidler #zeidler70

  • Cadillac Fairview has seen a year of change and diversification, and we are happy to be a part of their multi-family focus. CF’s 750 Peel and CF Rideau Registry Residences are phenomenal projects making their way toward completion. Iacono has reminded us that Cadillac Fairview has historically been one of Canada’s most active multi-family developers and is aspiring to return to its roots in residential development. We value the opportunity to collaborate with CF in shaping the future of their residential portfolio and supporting their renewed commitment to multi-family development. https://lnkd.in/g6x7_N62
