I can’t believe that 2024 is almost drawing to close. This has been a fantastic year for me as I complete my first year as President of Sun Life Asia.   I want to thank all my Sun Life colleagues, our advisors and our partners for the warm welcome to Asia. It has been wonderful learning about different cultures, trying different cuisines, and attending amazing events across the region. I have enjoyed all the conversations I’ve had with you on my travels this year and hearing your Sun Life stories. Thank you for your efforts this year. We are deeply saddened by the recent passing of our beloved colleague Kim Yeoh, Chief Financial Officer of Sun Life Asia. Kim was an inspiring leader and a dear friend to many of us at Sun Life and throughout our industry.   She was an exceptional CFO who was passionate about developing the next generation of talent and generously mentored many colleagues. Her leadership was recently recognised when she was awarded CFO of the Year at the Insurance Asia News Awards of Excellence. Kim will be remembered for being a wonderful colleague, friend, mother, artist and human-being with a big heart. She will be deeply missed by all of us at Sun Life. In her memory, Sun Life is making a donation to Maggie's Cancer Caring Center in Hong Kong to support cancer patients and their families.

We need to embrace it to make our business better so when we meet with Clients we can spend more time on empathy. You cannot ignore technology changes, you need to find ways to grow with it.” David Broom on Client-centricity: "Regardless of demographic, our Clients are looking for simple, reliable and relevant experiences and engagements when buying insurance." Bianca Ilibasic on diversity as a driver of change: "Leadership is about being your authentic self and bringing your unique strengths to the table." Helen P. on embracing diverse perspectives: “Diversity is not just about race, culture, or gender – it’s about embracing a variety of perspectives. A team with diverse ways of thinking inspires innovation and unlocks new possibilities.” Karim Gilani on the evolving needs of High-Net-Worth Clients: " The key trend is wealth transfer, as Gen 1 passes their wealth to Gen 2 and Gen 3, who have different perspectives and priorities. To stay ahead, we must understand what they value, how they prefer to invest, and how they want to be served.” Aneesh Chaudhry on the role of data: "Successful companies are those leveraging data to improve Client experience and investing in hybrid digital experiences." Rainbow Pan on sustainable investing: "We need to do more to educate people. Change can start with us - when you choose an investment, choose an ESG investment." It’s World Diabetes Day and as part of our ongoing commitment to the fight against diabetes, we’re shining a spotlight on how we’re unlocking access to the healthy lifestyles and physical activity that people need to help prevent type 2 diabetes and its related complications. Since 2012, Sun Life has committed over $55 million to the fight against diabetes through strategic partnerships for the most vulnerable communities.
