The rumours were true. BHP and Lundin Mining Corporation are acquiring Filo Corp. At C$4.5 billion, this is the biggest full take-over of a non-producing #copper asset in a really long time. (Ever?). A few quick initial thoughts: 🥇 Make no mistake - this is all about geology and a phenomenal orebody 🎰 Both a gamble and a big vote of confidence in Argentina as a politically and fiscally stable host country for a future Tier 1 producing copper asset ✖ Healthy, but not outrageous premium. Enough to secure the Fairness Opinion 👑 The retained NSR royalty, that some had speculated might be offered to Filo holders, is absent 🛂 Will be interesting to see how the cross-border puzzle comes together in terms of water, power, concentrate export, tax colllection, etc. 🌱 Next generation of Lundins making their mark, after taking the reins from the late Lukas Lundin Sendero Resources Mirasol Resources Ltd. Mogotes Metals Golden Arrow Resources Corporation NGEX Minerals Ltd.
