Do Your Programs Qualify for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP)? Big news from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada / Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada: as of November 1, 2024, international students applying for post-graduation work permits will face new rules. Only five broad areas of study at the college level are eligible: 🌾 Agriculture and agri-food 🩺 Health care 🔬 STEM fields 🔧 Trades 🚛 Transportation This means programs outside these fields won’t qualify for a PGWP, making them less appealing to prospective students who see a PGWP as a key step toward working in Canada and potentially gaining permanent residency. At SchoolFinder Group, we can match your programs to their CIP codes to determine PGWP eligibility. We’ll provide a spreadsheet with all the details: ✔️ Program names 🔢 CIP codes 🎓 Credential types ✅ PGWP eligibility status Here’s an example of what it might look like: Cloud Computing and Networking → ✅ PGWP Eligible Business Administration → ❌ Not Eligible Understanding which programs qualify can help you better market your institution to international students and make informed decisions about your offerings.
