The culprit? Poor durability leading to inefficiency. 🔎 The Problem with Solar Panels: Many flexible panels degrade quickly due to fragile designs, often lasting only a few months before microcracks, hotspots, and delamination destroy their efficiency. Fragility leads to frequent replacements, driving up costs and creating solar panel e-waste, much of which ends up in landfills. Cheap panels may seem like a bargain, but their short lifespan means more waste, more resources consumed, and more environmental harm. 💡 The Environmental Impact: Replacing panels early not only costs more but also adds to the growing issue of solar panel e-waste. The technology within panels is energy intensive, from the mining to the fabrication. They clearly see the value in reliable, continuous energy for powering hotel loads without relying on shore power or noisy, fuel-hungry generators. Many still remember the Exxon Valdez oil spill and are eager to explore zero-emission alternatives to reduce environmental risks. It’s great to see the industry moving toward sustainable solutions that improve operations and protect the ocean.
