Lufthansa Technik has been selected to retrofit three Airbus A350s for the German government with advanced self-defense technology. The aircraft, part of the German Federal Ministry of Defense’s Special Air Mission Wing, will be equipped with a cutting-edge DIRCM system from Elbit Systems to counter infrared-guided missile threats. This makes the A350s the first in the world to receive this state-of-the-art defense upgrade. Lufthansa Technik will seamlessly integrate the system during regular maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Air New Zealand is accelerating its sustainability efforts with its largest-ever SAF purchase—23,000 tons (30 million liters) of Neste MY Sustainable Aviation Fuel.
