Beside me is our catalytic methane pyrolysis reactor, one of several sizes at the University of Alberta, which is designed, implemented in partnership with Innova Hydrogen Corp. Our focus is to explore, optimize, and reliably achieve high hydrogen and high-quality graphitic carbon yields through #methane #pyrolysis. By leveraging innovative #catalysts, we've nearly halved the temperature typically needed for thermal methane decomposition, achieving high methane conversion and optimizing hydrogen production while slashing energy costs. Beyond producing hydrogen, our efforts to generate higher-quality carbon with a more graphitic structure for use in battery anodes, among other applications, could significantly enhance profitability. This makes the process a game-changer in the synthesis of hydrogen and carbon from natural gas. This is just the beginning—stay tuned for revolutionary scientific updates from us soon!

The team at Innova is happy to announce that they have been awarded a $300,000 grant through Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and Alberta Innovates in partnership with the University of Calgary. This research will be focused on testing Innova’s #graphite in #lithium ion cells and experimenting how #fuelcells will react to #hydrogen produced from Innova’s #proprietary methane pyrolysis #technology. Innova would like to thank the efforts put forth by the professors, Milana Trifkovic, Edward Roberts, Mayank Sabharwal, Kunal Karan at the UofC for getting this research grant approved.
