Hydrogen Canada Corp. (“HCC”) is excited to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") with Korea Southern Power Co. (“KOSPO”) to jointly develop a clean ammonia production and export business in Canada. As the largest Power Generation Company (“GenCo”) in South Korea, producing 12 GW through coal and LNG, KOSPO anticipates their demand for clean ammonia is expected to reach 4 million tonnes per annum by 2036. KOSPO is set to conduct due diligence on the HCC project as it considers the investment and off-taking opportunities. Should KOSPO decide to proceed with the investment, HCC will become the first project globally funded by a Korean GenCo for the clean hydrogen and ammonia energy transition.

Last week, Hydrogen Canada Corp. officially received a notice from the Korean Government Agency ("KEEI") that the "Hydrogen Canada Blue Ammonia Project" was selected as a pre-qualification consultation project for the upcoming Korean power auction. Based on the information, KEEI chose less than 20 projects out of 36 candidates in the world and we believe that the Hydrogen Canada project is one of the top projects out of 20 considering delivery cost, safety, marine transportation, CCS, solid off-taker and geopolitical point of view. Hydrogen Canada is moving forward to the next chapter of the project, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase in Q3 this year.
