Today on the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry, FPAC’s Eric Johnson and Etienne Belanger called on the federal government to prioritize wildfire prevention and mitigation. By scaling up fire mitigation initiatives like the Wildfire Resilient Futures Initiative, implementing Climate-Smart Forestry (CSF) practices, and empowering Indigenous-led fire management, we can create a more resilient forest ecosystem. 🌲 OSEG Partners with the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) to Champion Sustainable Forestry 🌲 Forest Products Association of Canada We’re thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership between Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group (OSEG) and the Forest Products Association of Canada through their Forestry For The Future program! This year-long collaboration is a game-changer, bringing sustainable Canadian forestry into the spotlight at some of Ottawa’s biggest sporting events. Through in-stadium activations, we’re aiming to show how deeply forest products are woven into the fabric of our everyday lives—whether it’s the timber supporting TD Place Stadium, the textiles in your favorite game-day jerseys, or the bioplastics in your sports gear. At OSEG, sustainability is more than a commitment—it’s a core value that drives our operations and long-term vision. By partnering with FPAC, we’re contributing to a critical conversation about the role sustainable forestry plays in Canada’s economy, communities, and environment. With over 370,000 indirect jobs and a commitment to forest health and productivity for future generations, the forestry sector is key to maintaining a sustainable future. We’re excited to work alongside FPAC to create a greener future, celebrate Canada’s natural resources, and engage with fans in new and innovative ways—both on and off the field. Let’s root for sustainability together! 🌱
