Diversifying Canadian business, one connection at a time.
About us
We often get the question: why do you exist? There are business chambers at the regional and national level, and corporations’ support for 2SLGBTQI+ initiatives is on the rise. It’s easy to give a by-the-numbers response. Canada is home to over 100,000 2SLGBTQI+-owned businesses. These businesses generate over $22 billion in economic activity and employ over 435,000 Canadians. In other words, 2SLGBTQI+ business is big business. However, 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs still face barriers. Nearly half have hidden who they were in business dealings to avoid losing opportunities, and more than a third have lost opportunities due to being 2SLGBTQI+. There is a growing number of organizations looking to change these stats – one connection at a time. A community of 2SLGBTQI+ businesses, government liaisons and even diverse procurement practices are helping tip the scales. CGLCC is a coalition of all of these positive forces advocating for change to make a more inclusive Canadian economy possible. We do this by bringing people together, and highlighting the right resources for 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs to be even more successful. So, the answer is: we exist because 2SLGBTQI+ entrepreneurs already have a huge impact on the Canadian economy, with barriers. Let’s see what kind of thriving and inclusive Canada is possible when we remove them.

EN: This year, we were thrilled to bring our CGLCC symposium series to Vancouver, Montréal, Halifax (twice!), and Toronto—uniting diverse suppliers, ecosystem fund recipients, Rainbow Registered businesses, partner organizations, and allies from all across Canada. Each city brought something unique to the table, and we’re proud to have created spaces for connection, collaboration, and growth within Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ business communities. From coast to coast, your participation, insights, and energy made each event unforgettable. A heartfelt thank you to all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and partners for making 2024 such a success. We can’t wait to see what’s next in 2025! A week ago, I was honoured to speak on Supplier Diversity from my perspective as a certified supplier, as well as working on the corporate side with Canada's 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC). It was inspiring to meet so many supply chain leaders that evening who were open to and interested in inclusive procurement practices. Thank you to ASCM - Western Canada Chapter and NISCL BC (National Institute of Supply Chain Leaders) for having me at your Holiday Social!
Last Friday evening, we had a productive networking event in Metrotown, Burnaby, accompanied by delicious food. The dinner, co-hosted by NISCL BC (National Institute of Supply Chain Leaders) and the ASCM Western Canada Chapter, brought together supply chain professionals for an evening of connection and learning. Kailey Gilchrist, founder of NONA Vegan Foods Ltd. and National Business Development Manager at Canada's 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC)+, delivered an inspiring and informative presentation. Our VP of Education, Manly Sitter, CPIM, CSCP, introduced the ASCM Western Canada Chapter to NISCL BC members. A big thank you to all the attendees and to NISCL BC for making this wonderful event possible! #VancouverNetwork #NISCLBC #Logistics #SupplyChain
