Subject: unattended-upgrades: Respect NetworkManager's metered connection property
Date: Tue, 24 Apr 2018 06:13:24 -0400
Source: unattended-upgrades
Version: 1.1
Severity: wishlist

NetworkManager allows setting certain network connections as metered.
It would be nice if unattended-upgrades would automatically not run
when being used on a metered connection.

Maybe this behavior should be overridable and maybe security should
have a separate override.

Although not about the unattended-upgrades package in particular,
there is some background discussion at
https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/snap-refresh-over-metered-connections/5001

Thanks,
Jeremy Bicha

I agree that it would be an important feature but apt starts u-u,
hence this should be fixed in apt.

Cheers,
