Inspiring words from Dr. Paulo Rebello, President of Brazil's National Supplementary Health Agency, at the IHF Congress. He emphasized the importance of a healthcare system that prioritizes stakeholders over shareholders, ensuring that patient care and community well-being come first. A powerful reminder of the values that should guide us all in healthcare. #IHFCongress #HealthcareForAll #PatientFirst #StakeholderDriven IHF Secretariat

Hey just a quick reminder about the changes we made to DOCSF: Digital Orthopaedics Conference San Francisco (DOCSF): 2024. (The video explains most of it... I should probably use an avatar next time 😫 🤣 ???) 1. Shorter format 2. More targeted audience 3. More choice in content 4. More time with peers 2024: Strong emphasis on #AI (applications of #GenAI and what's next after GPTs?) and Robotics (a veritable explosion in this space from multiple corners of the economy - impact on ortho surg?) as well as deep dives in the practical aspects of tech/digital health implementation and, as always, leadership. Come for the content and stay for the people. Can't miss it! www.docsf.health Kevin Plancher, MD, MPH, FAOA, FAAOS Unity Stoakes B. This year, I achieved a significant personal milestone: I read 57 books! Since I was a child, I’ve always had a deep love for continuous learning through reading – drawn to the endless worlds and ideas books offer. Over time, reading did not only fueled my curiosity but also expanded my thinking, enabling me to approach challenges with creativity, innovation and a fresh perspective. Before you’re too impressed by the number of books, let me clarify: about a quarter were read, while three-quarters were listened to as audiobooks. Like you, my daily life is quite hectic, but I discovered that listening to books during workouts, in airports and on flights, and even while cooking was an excellent way to continue learning and growing. The shortest book I enjoyed was Gratitude by Oliver Sacks at 45 pages, while the longest was Yuval Noah Harari’s Nexus, spanning over 400 pages. Among the authors is a FBI hostage negotiator, tech journalist, futurist, organizational psychologist, physicists, and many technologists. About 70% of the books I “read” focused on technology, healthcare, and business, driven by my passion for creating the future of healthcare by solving complex challenges. Another 20% explored mindfulness and self-discovery, enhancing my personal growth, while the remaining 10% immersed me in science fiction— a long-standing passion – igniting my imagination and pushing me to transcend traditional thinking. During this season of gratitude and reflection, I'm excited to share some of my favorite books with you. Every Tuesday in December, I'll post three of my favorite reads, along with the reasons I believe they're worth exploring. My hope is that these books challenge your thinking, inspire your journey of self-discovery, and provide you a touch of entertainment along the way. #technology #innovation #health

Perinatal asphyxia, the third leading cause of newborn deaths globally, is the focus of Green Hope September 2024. This initiative, led by the Protecting Brains, Saving Futures Institute, is in collaboration with numerous organizations both in Brazil and worldwide, including PBSF, AACD, BD, Fanem, and many others. Under the motto #EuRespiroaVida, the campaign aims to raise awareness, promote education, and share strategies for preventing neurological damage in newborns. 💚 **Why is Green Hope September important?** 📗 **Education**: Many families are unaware of the risks and consequences of perinatal asphyxia. This month serves as a platform to share critical information about prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatments. 👩⚕️ **Prevention**: Both healthcare professionals and families need to stay vigilant for warning signs during pregnancy and childbirth, ensuring proper care to reduce the risk of asphyxia. 💚 Green Hope September is a white-label campaign, meaning anyone—individuals or institutions—can adopt and promote this important cause.

Healthcare resilience, innovative financing and sustainability are high in the Global agenda. At the #G20Health Ministers' meeting in Rio de Janeiro, discussions underscored the need for resilience in global healthcare systems, focusing on innovative financing and sustainable strategies: 🔄 Debt-for-health swaps emerged as a priority for the Joint Finance and Health Task Force (JFHTF), empowering resource-constrained nations to prioritize health investments; aligning with Sanofi vision of health as an economic multiplier that enhances societal well-being. 🌐 Addressing pandemic preparedness through robust assessments of health, social, and economic vulnerabilities marks a critical progression in policy development. 📊 The G20 Brasil 2024 ’s also focused on digital health and AI integration underscores a shared vision for international cooperation in data standardization and interoperability across AI models. Sanofi dedication to advancing ethically AI across R&D reflects the collective push towards accessible and efficient healthcare. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dRS6M7Sc World Health Organization (WHO) The World Bank Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations)

As we enter 2024, the landscape of Brazilian Butt Lift procedures is evolving rapidly. The focus has shifted towards achieving natural-looking results through advanced techniques and personalized approaches. At Bala Better Health, we're seeing a surge in demand for subtle enhancements that complement individual body types. The integration of cutting-edge liposuction methods and refined fat transfer techniques is revolutionizing the way we approach BBLs. These advancements not only improve safety but also enhance the overall aesthetic outcome. Perhaps most exciting is the emphasis on personalized treatment plans and improved recovery protocols. As aesthetic professionals, it's crucial we stay at the forefront of these developments to provide optimal results for our patients. What are your thoughts on these trends? How are you incorporating them into your practice? Dr. Adam Wilkes Medical Director, Bala Better Health

This week, I had the privilege of joining my Philips colleagues, partners, and healthcare leaders in São Paulo to explore new ways to maximize value by accelerating innovation in healthcare. Among the inspiring discussions and technologies, I shared insights on why true innovation requires an organizational shift, not just effort and investment. Here are a few highlights from my talk: 1. Patterns are Powerful, But Can Also Limit Us As humans we are wired to recognize and rely on patterns, and in many cases, they’re essential. Traditional patterns—like top-down decision-making and capital funding cycles—have a place, particularly in large-scale projects like hospital construction. However, these same patterns hinder innovation. Like square wheels on a bicycle, they require far more effort than the progress they produce. To accelerate innovation, we must break free from these familiar patterns. Or, as we said in Brazil, “um, dois, três… Quebra Tudo!” [Break it all!] 2. A Framework for Innovation: Purpose, Empowerment, and Agility Unlocking innovation starts with aligning our organization around a North Star, empowering cross-functional teams to pursue this shared purpose, and creating an environment that supports operational agility and iteration. 3. Examples in Action: Here are a few ways organizations can shift: • Lean Portfolio Funding vs. Traditional Capital Planning: Agile funding can adapt to rapidly evolving needs. • Agile vs. Waterfall Methodologies: Agile principles aren’t just for software; they can revolutionize organizational initiatives too. • As-a-Service Models vs. CapEx: Like calling an Uber instead of buying a car, as-a-service models enable focus on outcomes. In healthcare, they can bypass long funding cycles, allowing organizations to focus on innovation instead of managing assets. Public/Private Partnerships can help here too. • Cloud vs. On-Premise: Cloud promotes faster, scalable innovation and breaks down data silos. Philips’ partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) demonstrates our commitment to leveraging cloud capabilities for innovation. 4. Being and Becoming Every healthcare organization is on a journey of both being what it must be today and becoming what it must become tomorrow. A key to innovation lies in realizing that these two things aren’t separate. In reality, being *is* becoming, meaning how we are today *is* on the path to what we will become. We must ask ourselves, “Are we on the right path?” And if not, find the courage to replace limiting patterns with new ways of being that better serve our vision of the future. And…this applies not just to organizations, but to each of us as well. Muito Obrigado to everyone who contributed to this impactful event. Together, we are shaping a future that challenges our traditional patterns and puts us on a path to faster, meaningful innovation! Transformation-capable teams are made up of people who are not only high performers, but who hold a unique balance of skills and mindsets that allow them to sustain focus, agility, and optimism in the face of uncertainty for prolonged periods of time. Ultimately, not all top-performing employees are equipped for this… #innovation #team #leadership https://lnkd.in/d_erhiQr
