Today, we are thrilled to announce that Felix Capital led the $42.75 million #SeriesB funding round for TechWolf. 🌟 Weekly Funding & Trends Update! 🌟 🔹 PHINXT Robotics in London raised €2.3M led by Sure Valley Ventures and participation by Ada Ventures, HEARTFELT_ and Atlas Ventures, in an oversubscribed round! 🔹 Led by Bert Baeck, Timeseer.AI, a Belgian platform that offers a data reliability & observability platform secured an undisclosed investment from OTB Ventures. 🔹 Swiss startup DemoSquare, which enables public-procedures teams to browse, monitor, analyse, and predict legislation, to help anticipate risks and identify opportunities, gathered €1.28M in pre-seed funding, led by QBIT Capital and participation by early stage investor, HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF). 🔹 Vilniaus universitetas / Vilnius University startup, Biomatter raised €6.5M from Inventure and UVC Partners for their biotech platform that uses AI to create new enzymes. 🔹 London-based Kennet Partners launched a €266M fund for #B2B SaaS startups. HOW WE CLOSED DEALS WITH 3 BIG BELGIAN COMPANIES IN WEEKS. 🔥 (Names will be disclosed next week in our monthly update mail, send me your email adres if you want to be in that list) Tips to the founders out there thinking things aren't working. It can take some time to build trust, relations and business. (I've been there) 1. Sales cycles can be long in B2B SaaS. (with us, it's between 2-6 months) So really start selling before the product is finished. 2. All our sales came via small referrals or had seen us around with people they trust. You have to build that trust ASAP. 3. *Godfather voice* We made an offer they can't refuse. (Jolt effect) If there isn't an offer.. What can they agree to? 4. Our pricing isn't perfect, but just start selling and improve it along the way. 5. Be genuinely interested in your champion within the company and in helping him/her. 6. Be open and transparent. If you want to get a honest reaction, say something honest. "Look I am going to be totally transparent, *insert our intention* and then ask for their intentions. Being honest builds trust. After last weeks discussion with Tim de Kraker I decided it would be fitting to also call this journey "The Product - Market Fit". Initially, I aimed to reach the entire music community. While that's still the dream, starting with a focused group seems the smarter approach. 🚀 57% of our investments are certified B Corp! We just added 2 to the mix: #Untamed | B Corp™ and #KoRo! At Five Seasons Ventures, we do as we preach, so we are also B Corp certified ourselves. Even though the label is far from perfect, it certainly has its advantages: - Fast growing community: from 1.2k certified companies 10 years ago to over 9k today. - Trusted and recognized by consumers and investors - Holistic approach: B Corp offers a comprehensive framework, recognizing companies that prioritize ESG, but also giving companies extra points if their products "promote the health and wellness of individuals" or "reduce toxins or pollution" for example (aka impact) According to our head of Impact Gaetan Kerloc'h: 'there is a strong correlation between certified companies and my own evaluation of their sustainability practices. With the new framework currently in development, I believe this alignment will only grow stronger.' 💚

I’ve been told: “Belgian startup ecosystem 🇧🇪 is total $*!t” 🤬 What would you answer? Would you agree? Disagree? 👇 Curious to collect some point of view in the comments below👇 On my side, to gather and structure some thoughts, I wrote an opinion in L'Echo! 📰 https://lnkd.in/eu8bkfcC I felt personally targeted being fully part of this supposed to be “total $*!t ecosystem 🤬”. I’m an entrepreneur myself, an investor, a board director, an advisor, a lecturer, … in 🇧🇪. So, as a good Belgian, I looked at myself in the mirror and it was easy to agree that I’m not the best in the best ecosystem. But are we the worst? No! We’re on track to upgrade to the next level! Full of talents, goodwill, successes, ambitions and vision.
