His presentation connected Newton’s 3 laws, Formula 1 racing, and office dynamics. My top three takeaways: - Don’t spend excessive time debating reversible decisions. - Effectiveness is more important than efficiency. - High performance teams require psychological safety.

It's alarming that 40% of Belgians aged 16 to 74 lack basic #digital skills. By 2030, up to 560,000 new jobs will require such skills. Signing on behalf of Accenture Belgium new commitments to address this issue through the DigitAll coalition: that's what I've done, alongside other organizations. Together with 64 CEOs and ambassadors, I endorse DigitAll’s Open Letter and call on future regional and federal governments to join us in this mission by acting on our three recommendations for a digitally inclusive #Belgium: 1) Develop a coordinated strategy. 2) Provide structural funding. 3) Work on an inclusive approach. It is also an opportunity for me to reaffirm our dedication to creating a more inclusive digital landscape where everyone can thrive. Hugely proud to have been admitted for publication in the digital edition of the Belgian Bank- en Financiewezen Digitaal / Revue Bancaire et Financière Numérique. The message of Philippe Gijsels and me is clear (and remains the same ... luckily): We are on the cusp of a different world, leaving behind 40 years of ever-declining interest rates and #inflation. Five defining waves will sweep through the global economy. The first is #climate transition, a recent trend. Then there is #multiglobalisation (see import tariffs EU which will make China look for in-betweens ... or start to produce more in #Europe) and an #innovation-driven #productivity boom, both of which are shifting trends. The last two waves, #ageing and #rising debt, are existing trends that will kick into overdrive in the coming decades. In terms of growth, the pros and cons largely cancel each other out, but when it comes to #inflation and nominal #interest rates, the balance tilts towards higher levels. We are entering a world of structurally higher inflation and interest rates. Thank you to Belgian Financial Forum for the publication.

What is leadersip? This week I have the opportunity to spend a week in Leuven, Belgium, while attending the KBC University course on Inspiring Leadership in collaboration with Insead. The first two-hour kick-off session is held by Johan Thijs, our Group CEO at KBC Group in person.
