🌏 Dutch delegation delves into South Korea's unparalleled nuclear technology expertise, fostering global nuclear collaboration!   💡 In early December, Tractebel – represented by Deepak Narasimhamurthy and Robert Berdal participated in the Netherlands' nuclear technology innovation mission to South Korea. The goal was to learn lessons from Korea's successful nuclear deployment domestically and globally.   ⚛️ Over the past 50 years, Korea's continuous nuclear commitment has enabled the creation of a strong and experienced nuclear value chain that can deliver nuclear projects on time and within budget while maintaining the highest level of safety standards. The in-depth competences and innovative approach of Korean nuclear companies are truly impressive.   🤝 The delegation visited several companies and organisations including KORAD (Korea Radioactive Waste Agency), Doosan Enerbility, Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute | KAERI, KAIST, Seoul National University (SNU), and Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co.,Ltd. The delegates also participated in the NES 2024 (Global Nuclear Energy & Safety Confex) showcasing South Korea's advanced nuclear power technologies and their potential to address global energy and climate challenges. The visits were an opportunity to share technical and scientific knowledge with Korean counterparts.   🙏 Thank you to all the organisations in South Korea for the warm welcome. Tractebel was honoured to attend the Nuclear Energy Institute and Nuclear Industry Association Annual Dinner on 5 December at the prestigious Grosvenor Hotel in London.   🤝 With over 1800 guests from across the nuclear industry—including utilities, engineering companies, technology developers, radwaste agencies, associations, consultancies- as well as policy-makers, and academics—the event was an opportunity to share viewpoints and network. ⚛️ Embracing UK's nuclear renaissance! In an interview with Energy Engineering Magazine, Ryan Doherty, Head of Business Development, UK, explains that Tractebel intends to leverage its unparalleled nuclear expertise to continue supporting nuclear developments in the United Kingdom. 🏗️ Our company as part of the S-ICOS-H consortium already works on the civil engineering design of EDF's European Pressurized Reactors (EPR) fleet (Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C) nuclear island buildings. Our company plans to build on these existing contracts and expand into other sectors, including support for long-term operations, decommissioning and waste management including the Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) design. 🎤 "The UK nuclear industry will require an additional 40,000 by 2030 and a further 170,000 by 2042 to meet the outlined demands...
